Red Ryder

OK,seriously, what do you guys think of this as a zombie weapon. How many shots would it take to get to that vital organ? Do you find this valuable?

If it was all you had..

Daisy's little trainer isn't a velocity king by any standards. BBs at that slow a shot bounce off things like plastic milk jugs and clay shotgun pigeons.

I'd not stake my life or those around me with the little gun.

Tossing rocks or brickbats would be as good or better at those short ranges.

On a similar note, I just got done compiling my BOB and contemplated putting my 4.5mm Co2 pistol in there, but realized the following when I thought of this thread:

Severe lack of stopping power
It looks like an S&W pistol [9mm] which'll get me in more trouble than I need
Reload takes too long
Rapid-fire damages the gun
Can't melee with it without busting the Co2 screw

So I'm not going to bring it on Z-day, I'll leave it on the dresser for some idiot to find thinking it's a real gun.

A Red Ryder'd make for an OK club, and also for shooting your eye out ; )

I want no restart of the Katana argument, but I'd take that piggysticker over a BBGun.....For real.

What do you have for trade in exchange for my big bottle full of unused 4.5mm BBs?

A single 12-gge shell.
Which I won’t demonstrate for you if you hand them over QUIETLY.

(No of course I’m kidding… Geeze, you threaten to tape a claymore to ONE person’s head, and everyone thinks you’re kuku for cocoa puffs…)

Whatchu got, a 4 winds shotty? *Laughing out loud*

Cocoa Puffs are awesome, especially that chocolate milk you get after eating the cereal, YUMMEH!!

On a serious note, wait, I think we're possibly done with this thread, the Red Ryder BBgun and other BBguns like it are to be used as plinkers, they won't be able to kill a Skinny...

I'll just point out however small airguns would serve very well as small game hunting tools, they lessen the risk of gunfire attracting stray zeds. although that late in the game i'm going to have a suppressor on my ar7

it'd also make great entertainment shooting people in your base with them.

when life gives you lemons, add vodka

Yeah, the really high-powered ones with that big number on the pricetag [meaningless by that point] would get you small game, but a suppressor [you'll eventually need to replace it] and a small caliber round will do the small game thing pretty well too :)

Nah, they'll just kill you in turn. During a seige, if you wanted to maintain good shooting posture, a BBgun would help with that, you'd save on ammo and most places that are seige-defensible will have crap you can plink with, be sure to wear eye protection though, but most prudent people'll have on shooting glasses or other PROTECTIVE eyewear anyway [I will.]

"steel wool and 1/4 fender washers are your friend, at least untill you find a good lathe and mill."
Are you talking for plinking or for some other use? Sounds like MacGyvering of some sort ; )

I get crappy cardboard boxes and I stuff them with paper of varying purposes. Helps with re-collecting and re-using BBgun ammo when it isn't plentiful.

I never realized the potential a BB gun had in a Z-War. Provided you're fortified, you obviously don't want to take it on the run.

On a seperate note, can anyone see my profile picture? I can, but Im not sure...
