malls are more a massive life line. No way can they sustain a large group of people i mean first is just what to do with human waste. Plus again doors way to many to cover, during the night everyone will have to hunker in one room for protection. then in the morning theyll have to sweep the building(hours). a safe point near one is a good idea but not within one. i plan to use it as a refuel for my colony but i dont see it as anything more 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Yup; surviving in a mall isn't a good idea. This is an 'If you wanna' page, not a 'Ma11z = th3h suv1v3z0r place' page.

Only thing I can suggest for human waste is to appoint an area outside of the mall where you dump all of it. Put on masks, carry the whatevers full of crap, toss it over the edge, and find a way to clean out the whatevers you crapped in. Perhaps you leave them in corner of the roof separate from the drinking and washing water containers, and you wash them out when they get rained in.

And, in terms of doors, It depends on the mall. I mean for you to block the main doors; not the little back entrance doors. That depends on the zombie type, though, but I doubt if they're going to just start pounding on the door just because it's a door. And a building sweep would be necessary, true, but it doesn't *need* to take hours. It might, though.

Personally, I agree in that you should just live near one, not in one. But rudimentary fortification *would* be pretty important if you're going to be getting supplies from it. Just rudimentary -- just enough to make it even more difficult for the zacks to get in.
