So bug out bags are beginning to look more and more similar. Most people are to ignorant to even own one(no one on this site of course), but your average man who doesnt believe in the inevitable zombie apocalypse. If we were all more like that man, i would like to ask about the 5 minute scramble. In the event Z Day comes and you DONT have a BOB, and your told you have to leave in 5 minutes, maybe even 10, what do you think that you would grab? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd grab my knife, one of my guns and my dog...oh and probably a jacket. Do you find this valuable?

Grab my boots, get a shot gun, ammo., a hunting knife, then go to the kitchen and fill a grocery bag with can food. Then grab my keys, and coat as I head for my truck. If I wasn't ready for any situation. Do you find this valuable?

If I really wanted to I could do a 15 sec. Grab my keys and run butt naked to my car.

Though It would probably go, pants, keys, wallet, TP, garbage bag, random pantry food into a garbage bag, extra clothes, wood axe, hand axe, car. From bedroom to garage, fastest route. Do you find this valuable?

Five minutes, I'd have time to grab food, some reasonably protective clothing, phone, wallet, ipod (the essentials you know?)and some water and call my parents about it. Oh and the first aid kit, even with my average skill in the area.

My weapon would most likely be an axe and a crowbar. Yeah I'm pretty shitly organised, due to weapon licensing laws and children in the house.

Then my means of transportation would be either a lift from my friend Chris's car, or if I couldn't contact him.... a scooter.

I'd only just be able to carry all this shit, and it would be pretty slow, but in this situation I'd probably go to the supermarket nearby, buy shit, and come straight back home.

Damn I need my license really bad before Z Day comes. Do you find this valuable?

In just 5 minuets I could have access to several shotguns, a rifle, a .44, several melee weapons, but little food. With a giant truck to go with it all, I'd say I'd be okay, at least for short term. Do you find this valuable?

Easy, get dressed, grab the 45 and the 38 on the night stand, along with a bag of ammo, walk out to my rig, and drive off. I don't consider what I carry in my rig a BOB, just stuff in case of an over-niter somewhere. Load of tools for work, guns in case I have a chance to shoot or hunt, change of clothes, snacks, drink, etc. Do you find this valuable?

Broken in walking boots
35l rucksack
5x assorted cans
3l water bottle (full)
Space blanket or two
Thick Coat
Kitchen knife of some kind
Matches

If I had a little longer:
Get into the shed, and pick up a claw hammer or small wood axe
More food
Socks, Hat & Gloves (Cold in Blighty at night)
Caffeinated energy boost drinks (little bottles) Do you find this valuable?

72 dollors and 85 cents
anti-biotics
allergy medicine
pocket knive
backpack
a couple of water bottles filled up
firstaid kit
a spare pair of socks
5 cans of root beer
and some aspirn

i did that (gasp) in four minutes and 55 seconds

EDIT: second time around i also grabed canned tuna and some power-bars
parents thought i was going to run away Do you find this valuable?

When Z-Day comes, you DON'T NEED A LICENSE.... No offense, but if there are zed running after my brains, I don't give a **** if I have a license or not, I'll take whatever mode of transport I can get, thank you very much. Do you find this valuable?

I would grab both of my Glock 21s, a my leather jacket(gotta look cool, right?), then my backpack, stuff my small solar charger inside, two notebooks and writing utensils, extra ammo, my water filter(the pocket-size kind), and then finally stuff my first aid kit in there. I would then proceed to hop on my bike and hightail it for my friends house in the country, which is like only an hour by bike. We've discussed this happening, and we have an actual plan, but if worst came to worst, that's what I'd do. We'd pick up the remaining members of our group from there. Do you find this valuable?

a) You can't get the equipment/vehicles/tools that require licensing pre-Z day without the license. And if you don't have it pre-Z, you are unlikely to get it post-Z.
