preparing thyself
Dec 13 2008, 3:06 PM EST
to be really ready you need to have more than supplies and a plan. you need to be able to execute any actions that need to be done to survive. you need to be physically strong, mentally strong, and clever. you should learn vital skills like medicine, combat, free running, food growing, and pshycology.

free running, I don't think too many people would consider that important in a Z-Day enviroment, nice catch.as for the rest of it, those are all very good point, but many of them, even through practicing, may not be enough, considering we don't even know the cappibilities of our enemy just yet. wiether or not they are as skilled, strong, or as smart as us, remains a question, but I guess the best you could do would be to train for all just to give you some breathing room when the time comes. not cutting you down or anything, your points were very good, but as far as combat, free running, or pshycology, its not known wiether what you train now will save you or do nothing but delay the enivitable. "free running, I don't think too many people would consider that important in a Z-Day enviroment,"Parkour is what'll be useful. Parkour is in an essence using the entirety of the human body to escape adversaries in an emergency by quickly and efficiently overcoming obstacles. Free running is the artsy-fartsy version of Parkour, involving acrobatics and other unecessary movements to pass obstacles, often for the sake of 'showing off.'. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you can run up and down some steep big hills while carrying your B.O.B.. Do this on a regular basis 3 or more times a week. I run 5+ miles a day every day with my B.O.B. so I know it's ready and adjusted properly. It's also a good idea to lift weights at least 2 or more times a week. I weight lift 5 days a week and do other cardio activities with a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. DON'T LIFT EVERY DAY you have to let your muscles heal at least 1 day a week. Martial Arts of any type will be use full for evade and escape techniques. Do you find this valuable? |

parkour is what i meant, i just thought it would be good to use the more widely known term, so that no one ends up with a huge question mark on their forehead.that is a very extensive exercise routine. i would say you are ready. Do you find this valuable? |
