Idea came from left 4 dead

well if you play L4D then you know about the pipe bomb well I wondered what speaker was on the pipe bomb to make the noise and realized its this I bought couple of years ago for another experiment http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102817 I think it is a good idea to rig a buzzer and LED light on a pipe bomb like in L4D since this has two sense on it since zombies can hear very well they will hear the buzzer and go after it and if they are attracted my little blinking light then they got that too. :D Some of may disagree with me on this also which is fine. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. I don't know if real zombies would go for it, but if it works half as well as in L4D you have a serious weapon on your hands. Do you find this valuable?

I dont know man, i mean its gonna have to be an activated phone cause there is no way to rig it to keep ringin. And it still depends on how long cell service will last. youd have to be somewhere you can see them pick it up if its gonna be worth the trouble to make the thing in the first place Do you find this valuable?

For grenades, maybe. They'd have to be hella loud though, and you'd have to use them on ragers only.

I meant handheld ones.
For larger charges, you'd probably want a MP3 player and speakers or something, and have it loop
"do not come near, this is an explosive device" The explosive would go off when the battery runs out

Do you have a picture you can post? I and many others don't play video games and only have a vague idea of what this is. Do you find this valuable?

Interesting idea but if you're in the middle of your invention and a horde of zombies, you're screwed. Even if you're running away from a horde and used one as a decoy, there may be a chance that a zombie ahead of you gets lured by your decoy too...

Doubt that would work so well on real life zombies... How can It draw all the zombies away when they were 2 tasty looking humans? If the pipe bomb was in between the human and the zombies, then it could happen... But in the video, the zombies behind the humans practically ran towards the pipe bomb and ignored the humans and ran past them... Do you find this valuable?

Yeah if they smell blood they would go after them but they are attracted by noise and light so if a human makes a noise they will go after where that noise came from. But if they see a light they will go towards where the light is. Here's a picture,.

won't hurt to give it a try,

Actually it would hurt... If you fail and all, you're zombie food. =) By the way, it might be a different ending if the zombies spotted you first. Do you find this valuable?

Who knows, if the zombies are particularly audio and visually sensitive, they might go for it. And it would be relatively easy to construct one. There are various instructions for creating a small beeping device(most of which are high pitched, probably best for attracting the not quite dead) online and a simple 9V and an LED would cover the blinking light. If nothing else, it's an extra hour to construct the first time and it won't affect the blast of the pipe bomb. Do you find this valuable?

It would be nice to use that and get multiple zombies and save ammo. especially when running low. I would have a gun with me at all times. There's your keyword "IF you fail" I'm sure it will work I mean a a guard dog sees you but you throw a a T bone steak and goes after that instead. Becuase his sense of smell on that steak. Which I would think it would work on a zombie with the pipe bomb with buzzer/blinking LED.

If noise and bright lights actually DO attract them, then it’s a great idea.
If it reples them (as I suspect it will), it’s a terrible idea.
Either way, I’d be more than happy to try it, and see if it works.

The difference is that a guard dog isn't used to eating humans, see? Humans are zombie's main food. I don't see how they will go after a noise when there's food in front of it.

It was a example not comparison just saying it could work it could not. They are attracted by noise though.
