My Zombie Plans
Jan 10 2009, 1:48 AM EST
I have multiple plans for how to respond to a zombie attack, depending on the situation, I might be found scouting from rooftops with a semi-auto Marlin .22, charging threw the streets blazing glory with a 12 gauge, or hold up in a self designed zombie defense compound. 3 out of 12 found this valuable. 1. Plan 1
Jan 10 2009, 1:57 AM EST
Assuming I have no one in my party, I would load up a messenger bag or duffel bag with ammo, first aid, water, food, and guns, and begin the hunt. I would begin by searching the city for survivors, and slowly cleansing my small hometown of the threat. Being adept at parkour, I would make my way to rooftops to avoid being overwhelmed on the ground level. I would hopefully collect a small group of people, and begin making decisions such as...Hunt or hide Search for help Barricade and defend Escape, and to where and all the other little decisions that go along with rebelling against the zombies. 2 out of 4 found this valuable. "my plain/preoration in in the form of a mive the url is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_w-8IsMdbQ"So you're advertising your own plan without commenting on Deadwards? very nice -____- Deadwards: a little vague, and you wouldn't hold out very long on a messenger bag alone. It'd also be pretty hard to parkour with a decent set of gear and supplies 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I have a couple plans. The first is to head to the local police station, pick up some guns and ammo, then head to the store to get canned food and other stuff, as well as a power source and a radio. I live in Wellington, NZ, and there is a medium-size island in the middle of the harbour, called Somes Island. After gathering a group of survivors, (this is assuming there are any) I/we would battle through the undead hordes to the Somes Island ferry. This would involve a fair downhill ride in a vehicle of some sort, in order to reach the bay. Once on Somes Island, I/We would have to fight any government workers on the island who have become zombified, although this will be nothing compared to the zombies in the city centre. My other plan is to escape to a rural area, preferably a farm, using the same plan as above with car substituted for ferry, and farm substituted for Somes Island, and minus having to fight Zombified government employees. Me and any survivors picked up along the way would build a fortress to protect from zombies. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

well my plan lies in home defense. that is my best option since i have lots of ammo and good building skills and marksmenship. first heres my weapons and ammoSKS 7.62x39 rifle WASR_10 semi auto 7.62x39 carbine 10 or 5 round clips WASR_10 semi auto 7.62x39 carbine 30 round clips M-4 .223 semi auto 30 rounds Handi rifle .243 break open with 3x-9x scope mossberg 500 20 gauge, remington 9870 20 guage, several 22. long rifle, 1 45 s&w pistol 1000-4000 rounds of 7.62 ammO(depends when we go shooting 1000-2500 .223 ammo 1800 rounds .22 lr ammo 400 .45 ammo me and my dad would barricade the door and the windows, with my couch, and then convert the area in front of the tv to ammo. then we would have every start loading every freakin clip we have and filling the guns.sadly my brother is handicapped yet can still fire, load, and accurately shoot weapons. i would give him and my mother the shotguns, but that would be for last defense.i would then take my sks and me and my dad would start shooting. we would have all the doors and windows barricaded, and we would try to defend. thats basically my plan. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. "I have a couple plans. The first is to head to the local police station, pick up some guns and ammo..."You really think that a police station would just let you run in and grab guns on z-day? You'd be better off trying to rob a bank. I have no objections to the island thing though, just be sure you have enough food and water to last a couple months. and as for wasr769, all those guns arent going to help you when you and your family are starving to death. My suggestion is to get a new plan, one that involves stockpilling imperishable foods. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

To start with, I took an interest in melee weapons when i was younger, and now have a fair number of swords, daggers, and a battle axe. When i realized the zombie invasion had begun, I would gather up my weapons (including my pump shotgun with as much ammo as i could get), non perishable foods, water, first aid kits, and anything else i could carry that would be useful. After preparing it all, I would load up my truck and start searching for those i love who are still alive. Assuming I found them, we would head towards the nearest library. There we would find a global map and find an island with good natural resources, a fresh water supply, and a relatively low population. Once the island is chosen we would search for books on survival, sea travel, ship repair, and possible books about the island. With my group (the plan carries on the same way regardless of survivors) we set out in our vehicles towards the nearest port, making stops only as necessary for food, water, and sleep. During the night, a watch would be set up and would rotate out every 3 hours. Repeating this process the miles would melt away until we reached the port we were after. As most port cities are of a decent size, this would be where we would most likely lose some survivors. From a distance we would decide on which ship that was docked there we wanted to take, then start making our way to it through the city. If we reached the ship safely without alerting the zombies to our presence, we would all board the ship, leave a watch at the boarding zone, and make a sweep of the ship to clear out any zombies on board and check fuel and other necessities, making repairs and acquiring fuel as needed. If we were not so lucky, we would be forced to race through the city and set our vehicles up as a barricade at the dock. From there we could keep them at bay while backing towards the ship. Regardless of ship condition and fuel levels we would set sail away from the port, cutting the zombies off.

10. RE: My Zombie Plans
Nov 19 2010, 7:46 PM EST
Once at sea, we would clear the ship of all remaining zombies and make runs into the city during the day until we had the items necessary for ship repair and refueling for the long trip. So now whether we made it safely through the city or ran screaming, we are at sea heading towards the island with a healthy ship full of fuel and clear of zombies. Using the ocean to supplement our food supply, we would reach the island and drop anchor a little ways out at sea. Taking boats onto the visible beach during the day we would begin to build a barrier around the first few hundred feet of the island using whatever we could find. After a barrier is built, we would start creating homes, and making trips out to find food and water. If alone, I would begin using the ships radio to broadcast my location and that I am building a settlement. If with people there we would using the books we gathered from the library on weaponsmithing, gunsmithing, metalworking, various things to use against the zombies and start clearing farther out onto the island, while still sending transmissions to other survivors. After a while, the entire island will be cleared and various survivors will have heard our transmissions and have made their way to our island. Strict checkpoints will have been set up for all people entering the island from sea for the first time, or parties returning from raids farther in the island. The island would become repopulated with survivors from the people migrating or from the couples on the island having children. Upon reaching the maximum drain the island can handle on resources, we would branch out to other islands, colonizing and repopulating them with above method until we had a good number of people. Technology would be restored and we could eventually make raids back inland toward the mainland and eventually retake the world from the zombie menace.

A tip for everyone here. Right at the top of the discussion page, there's this wonderful button that says "post a new thread". If you have a plan or something to talk about, not relating to the thread you are currently reading, click that button, and put down your great idea there. Do you find this valuable? |

Wow, you guys really seem to have your **** together. Lets take a look at your schedule, shall we?Kill zombies Kill zombies Breakfast Kill zombies Kill zombies Kill zombies Kill zombies Lunch Kill zombies Afternoon tea Kill zombies And so on and so on Why does everyone immediately assume that in the event of a national emergency the answer to everyone's suffering is to run the streets with a shotgun and "Get er' done"? 4Chan.org has a forum specifically for guns, and every 13.37 seconds a thread gets posted about Joe Schmoe 17 year old mowing down waves of zombies with Grandad's Uzi. I think some of these responses would be more dignified there. Get my point? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Do you think you should engage the enemy unless you have to? I think you should stay put and survive as long as you can. Being on the roof will draw too attention to yourself from others who may want to shoot you and other zombies.

310,476,865 people residing in the United States.11,478,006 people residing in Ohio. 166,179 people residing in Dayton, OH. I'm using Dayton as an example of a city that can be considered an average for the human population. It isn't gigantic, and it isn't a farm town. If %10 of the area survives (which is a gross over estimate) that would leave 16,618 survivors and 149,561 dead/infected. More realistically, if %2 survive, that would leave you with 3,324 survivors and 162,855 dead/infected. Since you will be slowly clearing out your area of infected, lets say you are responsible for killing 1/10th of your cities undead population, leaving you with 16,286 zombies to kill. A duffel bag packed by a 15 year old (or so your avatar appears to be) would probably contain 2 days of food and water. Assuming it would take you an added 4 days to die of dehydration or starvation, I'll give you 6 days. By that math, you would have to kill 2,714 zombies each DAY to be able to rid Dayton, OH of 1/10th of it's zombie population before you died due to bad planning. After seeing the numbers, don't you think it would be a better idea to ditch the delusions of being a "zombie slayer" and focus on some realistic aspects of survival? 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Wow... U just ruined my day. Assuming i pack enough enuf food nd wat not with my ppl ive included in my zombie plan. Myself and this fat kid up the street whose dad was greek militia during thier war to keep out communism. Even tho hes old hes still legit nd has a mess load of guns. Then we just go out to the forest and hunt for about 6 months. The zombies should have starved by then. Thruout the invasion we would forage small towns for food and supploes and wat not. We would also probly rob ppl ( u probly will too if necessary for survial) hopefully well survive the 6 months nd yea most zombies will have starved/ been killed by then
