Ultimate Zombie Weapon!!!!!!!!111~~

Gravity

Yeah thats right gravity wanna fight about it?

If zombie were to lose basic reasoning skills as movies and rabid dogs lead us to beleive then the answer to killing them in great numbers is simple.

Park a crane near the edge of any great cliff or dropoff and have people in shifts take a position in a bucket hanging a safe distance past the cliffs edge and allow any tempted zombies to walk right off...

Mabey this wouldnt kill every zombie that fell but surely this would break most every bone in their bodys and make for an east cleanup...

Only trick would be to lure them to that location in the first place...

Heck yeah!
And if you've got access and knowhow to work a crane, then keep a bulldozer handy, run up behind the crowd of zeds, and give them a hand going over the edge, Spartan style!
Nice

I think you would have to make sure that the person in the bucket gets the attention of ALL the zombies. Otherwise if the people who are operating the crane gets attacked... the person in the bucket is screwed... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I thought of that and the answer could be to simply not have an operator in the crane most of the time only when shift changes take place
OR
The better solution is to build a strong wall just big enough to fit the footprint of the crane mabey a bit bigger and block and basketball playing Zeds who can jump O.o

Ultimate senerio we figure out exactly what zombies are attracted to ((Bodyheat, movement, smell, whatever)) and replicate it without putting people in harms way or reading old magazines in a bucket for hours... 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

That idea is utterly insane. Luckily I like insane. But Jordan seriously what the hell actually made you think of that. If you say the hospital rooftop finally from left 4 dead then I wouldn't be suprised but if you came up with it just off the top of your head I will be extreamly impressed. I think that you could make a crushing machine with a pulley and some way to get them to congregate right below. Hook up a bicycle to the rope to pull a weight/crushing-thing up with a 1:5 ratio or something then pull the "destruction device" up, wait for zombies to walk into the zone then let it go. Rinse and repeat. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

The last post brings to mind a dream i had. It takes a little bit of prep work, sure, but hear it out.
In almost every post apocalypse movie, there is a shot of a highway clogged with old vehicles. With a little bit of work (maybe using a tractor, or with any luck the cars will still be drivable and you could drive them into position) position the cars down the shoulders of the road, making retaining walls out of them.
Then, 2 or more guys on dirt bikes haul ass through town and draw the zeds to them. Once they've got a worthwhile crowd, they lead them onto the road. After the guys on the bikes get clear cruise down the highway with a steam roller flattening the zeds by the hundreds! Have a gun team walking along in a stand-by capacity.
Thoughts?

One other mod to the bait and switch tactic which im not sure why it would be used but it could be if you wanted a zombie farm or something O.o

For occations when no great falls are available How about playing cowboy?

Herding zombies into a pin which only requires two perhaps chainlink walls built acrossed a street with buildings on either side

Slides could be made out of pipes cut to about 3/4ths and attached to the buildings on either side of a street and the fence posts could be dropped in place very quickly

So people acting as lures pass the first slide then the second, fence #2 drops blocking the zombies charge fence #1 drops blocking the zombies only escape

What you do with a corral full of zombies is your choice... Mabey just shoot them or save bullets by buring them but i'd reccomend breathing and eye protection...

Of course this wont work if there is a level 4 outbreak cause well your likely on a rooftop waiting like Andy (the gunshop owner) as thousands swarm the streets...

The only way to make this work without casualtys is to set up a remote control system for operation of the crane, so the operator does not have to sacrifice themselves. I know that Im new to the forum but whatever happened to the clasics??? Like "no noise" "no perfume or scented soaps" Have we all forgotten the basics that the zombie survival guide teaches us???? My ultimate zombie killing weapon is a 120lb compound bow and a nice unclimbable position from which to fire from. Do you find this valuable?

well not necesarily unclimbable but un-rampable, like an old-growth california redwood. Do you find this valuable?

What about an automatically reseting steam powered catapult. You could move it around and use it to throw dozens of zombies all at once against the side of buildings or off cliffs. Reset and do it again.

I shall call it the repeating Corpse-o-pult.

Lol fun idea and fairly simple but it would still require someone chopping and keeping a fire fed. Though this shouldn't be a huge limitation for a larger well established groups. it still uses wood which will likely be in short supply, In a short amount of time if your also using it to heat homes in the absence of electricity or gas.

Well you could burn anything that will burn just to keep a fire going. Windshield washer fluid burns pretty good. Coal, tar, tires...you could use just about anything that is flamable.

People have to man the device anyway. The living must draw the dead to the machine to be thrown. Using gravity as a weapon is an awesome idea...but it's geographically specific. You need hieght to drop something.

A transportable weapon allows you to go where they are so you don't have to make them come to you.

Maybe instead of steam powered it should be simple torsion of dead weight powered and manually rearmed. That way there is no fuel needed. The only energy required is man power...with a little help from modern science.

Good idea, as long as you make it impossible for them to get to you and it is comfortable for you to be out there. It addition, you need an escape plan just in case something goes wrong or you want to retire for the evening or whatever.

Getting them there should be fairly easy using the old bait system.
