let's get something straight...
Jan 12 2009, 6:29 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 12 2009, 6:29 PM EST
this story takes place over the course of only two or three days. a few people refuse to acknowledge this, and it's been getting a bit annoying to the rest of us who have been writing for the last two pages. another thing is that recently somebody added to the first community story page. the first! granted, he was a new writer but this is really essential people, because there have been way too many continuity errors in this story, and it has to end. chances are that if you're reading this that you haven't done anything wrong, but I still insist that you check back to make sure.

the last thing I want to adress is thy there has been an obvious drop in story frequency recently, and I encourage all writers, especially kuthiani and crashr, to begin contributing again. Nexus should be given a break, he's written half of this page if not more.

Yeah, I agree with xombiez., stick to the timeline. It's probably a good idea to put things in chronological order (eg JohnnyRoss can put his story first as his story is dated on the 14th November...It can act like a prelude to the events before the Bowman citizens came to Sloan City) this is just a suggestion though. And as for the continuity errors try and not contradict other writers, even though I may have done it too! Check and make sure.

Now I know seeing my stories at every 1 writer interval has probably become redundant lol but I do want other the writers (even non writers) to contribute to the community story. Msg your story to a writer and they'll post it for you. So get contributing.....I'll hold off writing, for now.

Nexus: i hope i don't come off like i'm telling you off writing. it's great reading the things you post, i'm just trying to get some people back on the project. it's easier for some people if they're compared to somebody who handles a greater workload and still does well.

also, while rereading the post i realized that i sounded a bit like i was attacking everybody. i'm not. i'm just trying to get people involved. i believe that kuthiani said he was travelling, and i'm not sure what happened with that, but other people were writing too and we need to keep the heart pumping on this thing.

lol nah, I didn't take offence. As much as I love writing I'm taking a little time off for now. Just until we get more people contributing to the CS. I want to space out my stories inbetween others more (so it's not always; me, someone, me, someone, me, someone etc).

So COME ON EVERYONE! WE CAN DO THIS!

Would you all like the first, second and third story locked to stop people from adding to it now?

Let us (mod's. and administrators) know we can lock it so no more is added to earlier pages, and the new one can be worked on.

If you could lock the first three pages, it would really be appreciated Dave. For all intents and purposes, those stories are done. Also, matt, i gave my new part to xombiez to post today. just let him put that up and read it before you get too deep into writing your new part. Do you find this valuable?

Hey everyone, back from my short but fun summer trip (drinking 7 absinthe shots[for good luck] in a row seems good idea at the time but the day after is a bitch).
Anyway sorry matt for the delay in posting your story.
Now normally I would get crackin on writing again but I still feel a bit woozy, I'll write up my story when I get better.

I like the Community story the only thing is I wish every one would use the same script (print) and size? It gets hard to read when every other section is in a different lettering.

Just a suggestion by a reader.

It's not too late to change the dates back, but I see little point these days.

Ei man, mr.xombies dude, i think the main thing that's wrong is that people are not actually "THE SAME" in timeline. One write here, theres november 18, then all of a sudden its 5 days later after one update! i mean, some of us might get left behind immediately.

see, the idea with that is that the characters have been holed up. it's perfectly fine to write about things in between then and the search party, but saying that the infection started any more than five days ago at this point is inaccurate, as well as saying that it started somewhere else. if you read the other stories, you'll realise that the infection started in bowman, the original town, whe a hazmat truck spilled over. the infection spread, consuming the town and spreading outwards. IrishHitman's story is placed on the 23rd, but says the infection started months ago. there's already a preset for the storyline tracing back several pages, and it's a bit to late to alter course, gentlemen. and the continuity errors i wrote about are things like characters being in two places at once, times being different, as in events happening at times before they are introduced, that sort of thing. it wasn't targeting anyone in particular, just a general memo to make sure everything's in check. i've been guilty of one or two thngs in the past, but i've edited them and made sure that they work. Perhaps you should read it again.

Another person before me placed the infection's start at four months previously, whereas I place my group's arrival in the United States at one month previously. I'll find the quote if you want.
