Other Forms of Transmission
Jan 31 2009, 6:50 PM EST
Obviously there is the original ideals of Zombies brought about through Voodoo MagicAnd there is the more recent popular Viral infection as the source of Zombification But what other possible methods could you contract such an affliction? Paracites? This would open up the possibility of simple skin contact to complete a transfer... Radiation? Who could forget this even with its low probability? Spores or fungal? Nanobots? O.o Yeah as if they weren't enough to be scared of on theyre own, Could tiny self replication robots take control of human hosts? ((You would have though that the terminators would have figured this out by now O.o)) Drugs or Medical? TV or hypnosis? (may not make you into the walking dead but never the less) Aliens? *Twilight Zone theme plays in background* Any other you can think of you discussion on these is welcome~~~ 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Do not forget evolution of organisims to become zombies. And bioengineering of a preexisting virus for a weapon. But other than good job listing causes of zombies. Very complete.

"hypnosis can't make you do anything you don't wanna do contrary to popular belief you're fully aware of whats happening during hypnosis and you wouldn't do anything you wouldn't do normally such as chomping on your neighbor(unless you're into that kind of thing :P) Do you find this valuable? |

personally my favorite one is the viral infection, but wat if the father host (or a king zombie if you will) was the only one to inherit this infection, but the as a result he was venomous and turned everyone else to zombies purely by the bite or by his blood getting into there system

This theory is beyond unlikely because it suggests that vampires exist. However these vampires are just like humans except they need blood somewhat like zombies. Now when one of these "vampires" goes several months without feeding, they will revert to a more primal state due to the pain. Now instead of turning people into vampires when bitten they turn into ghouls, or basically zombies that are the vampires slaves. See where I'm coming from? I know that's unrealistic but hey so what. Also on the hypnosis thing, I personally don't buy it. If you have a strong enough will you would probably easily be able to resist it unless they implanted you with something. The one I fear most however would be the nanobots. If advanced far enough could easily regenerate the hosts body when damaged, be far smarter then the average human, spread out nanobots from it's body, give the host superior physical abilities and many other things. That would just suck ass. Although that's just from watching movies. Do you find this valuable? |

"This is the one that started my zombie fixation. What i'm thinking is some sort of paracitic worm ( or other nasty thing we dont want in our body ) mutates and infects a host. This host is then "hijacked" and starts doing two things; eating, and reproducing. Eating is stright forward, the host kills another human and eats the flesh. Reproducing involves 1, making more paracites within the host and 2, infecting other potential host's; odds are through biting. the rate of infection and reproducing can vary depending on the type of paracite and what type of mutation it recivied. this can be seconds ( Halo's Flood) or days, like a normal paracite. If it's seconds, you would have a verry serious problem poping up verry quickly. On the otherhand, if it's a few days before the paracite hijacks the host, the infection could be stoped.
