What is your favorite zombie book?
Feb 4 2009, 5:05 PM EST | Post edited: Feb 4 2009, 5:05 PM EST
The title asks it. Note it asks BOOK as in story. I mention this to stave off the endless barrage of "Zombie Survival Guide" mentions. I started this so that we can share our favorite stories and maybe get an idea for new reads. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

The survival guide is a good piece of comedy nothing more.

I would point out that some things in that book can be useful but that would detract from the subject of this thread.

Not scolding or nothing but there ya go.

Plague zone is about a guy going to kill 1 zombie to avenge his family, won't go into details that would ruin it

I liked the book Spore. It sort of introduces a different kind of Z. A plant-based one.

I have a lot of zombie books. I Like WWZ and Day by Day Armageddon a lot. I am still reading "Down the Road" and I've read the S.D.Perry Resident Evil books a few times, they're great!

But my favourite Zombie Book would be. . . Twilight of the Dead. (WWZ comes a close second)

my favorite is " I am Legend" I read it before I saw the movie. Let me say the book is a hundred times better. I know lots of people say that, but this time it's true. The movie is nothing like the book. they are two different stories.

The book is about literal vampires. where as the movie is about creatures that have an adversion to sunlight. the book covers everything: why sunlight hurts them, why they have an adversion to crosses (this one is cool), why they hate mirrors, garlic ect. they are traditional vampires with a scientific explanation.

Richard Matheson wrote this book in 1954, way ahead of its time. I love the book and i read it a few times before my dog destroyed it. I highly recommend it!

It must be an AMAZING book, cos it's sparked 4 films.

The Last Man on Earth
Night of the living dead
Omega Man
I Am Legend

I must read it.

HEY! Don't diss Hitchcock. He is a legend in his own right. But to I Am Legend. Hated the movie. Loved the book. I wanted the movie to almost resemble the book and it didn't.
