im surprised noone added this video. its a very simple and easy way to make a landmine. this can protect your base by alerting them of your pesence!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb8sZ3fQ5II&feature=related * NOT MINE! Another name is a pressure plate. Insurgents makes these to kill soldiers in Iraq.

Not the greatest alarm system. You would have to put out a lot of them. And since they are unlikely to cause serious damage to a zombie I would almost consider it a waste of matches. Much better would be long stretches of trip wires that lead to cans or glass bottles dropped from height to alert you.

theyre unlikely to cause serious damage but are cheap and easy and quick to make. if shrapnel is added, and mor powder, it could easily become a kind of military grade landmine.

There are shotgun shell perimeter alarm kits that are made to shoot blank 12ga shells. The system can be summarized as a a spring is set behind a nail that acts like the firing pin. There is a little piece of metal that slides in and out of the system that is between the firing pin and the shell and is attached to a string. When the string is given tension, it slips out of the path of the firing pin with the spring behind it and the pin hits the shell's primer. The basic booby trap that can be adapted. Make sure the shell isn't pointed anywhere dangerous. Landmines are an invention from the armpit of the universe.

Why not just get a good dog? That's cheaper(gun powder aint goin be falling from the sky you know), safer(as long as you treat him good and train him not to attack but only alert) and more reliable than any of that crap.

This is a good way to blow up any survivors looking for refuge...Think about separating the zombies by intelligence. Even putting up yarn with cans on it will work as an alert system. A survivor will know to walk over bright colored string with cans hanging around everywhere. I like John's idea with the mouse traps -imagines Tom & Jerry cartoons- Do you find this valuable? |
