The way things are going Chevy may not be around. Go with the Ford Expedition. Its a good all around vehicle. You have room for friends, can haul stuff, and rugged.

Is it 4 wheel drive? If it is I would go with it.

Keep the muffler on it. LOL

Not to mention that they have to put 30 speakers and amps to hear their music over their cherry pipes.

All you hear is Rum, Boom, Boom, Rum.
I hate that too. I pay good money to make my Ford F3500 as quiet as a Diesel can be quiet.

think about shelter your already providing the vehicle, if its not in a garage or as i prefer container box under ********(nick cage 'dog of wa* ).. then chances are its a target for theft now and till a zday. your tight on cash always and do you have the rest of your kit? a good radio could set you back a few bills.

go with the vw bug.. make it a project learn maintenance for cars..then when the time come hope out to your curb get in you car and pull it in the garage or where you can feasible to claim as your fortress till your ready to move. you could pocket some of that cash and really do something.

other cool option was the Rokon offroading (http://www.rokon.com/salesnservice/prices.htm) motorbike. It even floats so a guy no matter what size can push it (under 208lbs sry no conversion). this was going for 5,900 USD on their site alot easier to convince a friend to store inside a shed even! Bam you pocket what over 2/3 of your bank roll to do other projects, and its not a gas guzzler!
