Survival Books And Sites

I've read two books that have some good info on survival skills (first aid, tracking, food and water gathering, etc.). I don't know if anyone has listed them but here they are: SAS Survival Guide and the US Army Survival Manual.

I also know of a site- it's basically what's leftover from the closing of the totse site: Zok's BBS, bbs.zoklet.net . It has some interesting info, such as the DIY forum.

Do you find this valuable?

Yes books with info are good but you need to practice the stuff, my dad took me on a survival trip fro three days. I only ate what i could find fish or dig up while he had diny more. i had to make fire build my own shelter he had colman and a tent. I had a leather men wave knife a large trash bag some beef jerky taps for water a can to boil water in some heavey twine and a wool army blanket. i did sneek some power bars. I did fairly well but did lose a few lbs. Read the books try the info out. I am now learning to make traps and such next time i can take my survival 22 cal. its used but it is self contained in the stock. I did have a crank up flashlite also. We did this after my mom died. My dad said i needed to let it go and get back to realality Do you find this valuable?
