Pre-Cursor to an Outbreak?
Apr 26 2009, 10:22 AM EDT | Post edited: Apr 26 2009, 10:22 AM EDT
Ever heard of the Swine Flu? No? Few have. Over the past four years there have only been a recorded 11 cases in the entire United States. Yesterday, New York Officials Quarantined an entire school due to an excess of "serious" infections.

Let's discuss some possibilities, people. Flu-like symptoms have often been thought to be precursors to a Zombie infection.

I don't necessarily believe so. The human variant of rabies isn't near as serious as the animal variant, and is only able to be contracted with mucous membrane contact. Bites and whatnot. And Rabies has never reached pandemic status.

well the current swine flu isn't nearly as contagious as it could be. likewise like 28 days later, a different variation to rabies could end up exactly like the movie. also i.e. infection through contact like biting and clawing seems more zombie like then just normal contact.

although i admit the swine flu symptoms are pretty damn severe.

I've been watching it for a day or two now, and It does look pretty serious. With about 16 areas of Mexico infected, California, Texas, Kansas, and New York, possibly in New Zealand, and an investigation in France, its deffinately spreading. That, and with about 1300 infections and 81 suspected deaths (20 confirmed) just in Mexico since the 13, I'd rather keep a really close eye than let it slide and take me by surprise...

"Suspected deaths"?

HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously, this strain of flu will probably end up like the bird flu did a few years back. It'll be a "big deal" propagated by the media, but then settle down.

Even if it is a problem, It probably has nothing to do with zombification, even rage zombies.

if that's your plan, you need to stock-pile before it gets to you area, cause once it does....everyone else in your state will be too!

That's exactly right. Whether or not this is the real deal, and the beginning of a Zombie Outbreak, we can know that some people (myself and others) are on the lookout.
Knowledge that others have a keen eye is comforting to me.

I would think so. Or a more serious level of quarantine. City Blocks, Quadrants, or entire Cities. Limited Media. Or if it completely drops off the news. If they say nothing else about it on the news, it just screams cover-up or conspiracy.

Pay close attention to outbreaks in your area.

the next sign would be covered up by the government. the government would try a cover up as long as it would last. once the outbreak became large enough they cant cover it up.

the next sign would be FAA stopping flights. they wouldnt want to help spread the outbreak. and/or martial law

As, of one hour ago it was confirmed to be here in Ohio as well. I've contacted my friends and we're watching and if this reaches epidmic stages we'll be ready.
