How safe is your workplace?
May 15 2009, 1:42 PM EDT
The above page got me thinking:How likely am I, or anyone else, to survive by bunking down at work? I work on a farm, so the main area (barns, house, a milking parlour) could easily be shored up and blockaded with large farm vehicles. there are also guns, food (mainly in cows and cow-related items), and a large amount of diesel. On the other hand, it's not very big, and it's too isolated, with too many possible ways in. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

isolation is usually a good thing. Many ways in also means many ways out.

"isolation is usually a good thing. Many ways in also means many ways out."The building I teach in and where my office is was built about 150 years ago and updated several times so the interior in some places is wallboard but the exterior is high windows and heavy brick with the older parts just having the inside restored with horsehair plaster. The inner doors have been updated to be pretty near indestructible. They said it was part of a renovation in reality it is to lockdown the building in case some freshmen failed Psych 100 and goes on a rampage. Work would be safe but I need to get home and home is safer well stocked with food and weapons-wife and kids. Do you find this valuable? |

"well, I work at an orchestra so... ya..... but I carry a concealed weapon, unlike most."I was married to an opera singer when I first joined the Marines maybe you could run into her if you work at an orchestra, when I say into I of course mean over (and for the annoying DHS people who consider us threats-Yes silly law enforcement man who trolls these pages it was a joke I wish her no harm)-she decided that why I was at ODS she should fuck Jody. "The above page got me thinking:I work in a bicycle shop. It's a large open plan building, with a single customer entrance and only one window on the main floor. Both the doors and window are covered by a large, thick shutter. There's also a steel fire-door that remains closed and alarmed and cannot be opened from the outside. The only other entrace is a small side-door. A plastic and steel door, then wooden storm-doors then a metal shutter. Only the south-facing wall has any uncovered windows, they're all 1x1 feet and barred with iron bars. There's a kitchen, bathroom, a shower and a large supply of energy products and water. What is lacking is any 'proper' food, besides energy and protein bars. It's secure, but not equipped with enough food to last out a siege... . Do you find this valuable? |

I give it a 7out of 10-Restricted access to the field, you just cant wander in here they fly people in. -Limited access to the field, via road, security checkpoints.. etc. -Very isolated location.. Middle of the fucking arctic!! hello!!.. And they have an ice cream machine.. :).. I'm good :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'm go to a school. You know, where kids are supposed to be? A private school, to be more specific.Anyway, I don't like the building for defense. It was originally an office building. It has a bunch of windows. Two entrances on either side, both are glass doors and windows. Nothing that could be a real weapon besides maybe stealing baseball players' bats. But, the students and staff have some cars that IMO could be effective in a zombie world. Do you find this valuable? |

One nice thing with my high school is the tech area is all in one, secluded-ish part of the school and has the engines rooms and the wood shop and electronics classes, so materials and such are on hand. The downside is that there are four thousand students and a few hundred more staff members. And none of our security guards have any ability to do anything in an emergency situation whatsoever, they can't even direct traffic in the school parking lot. Do you find this valuable? |

Bwahahahaha funeral director thats funny for a zombie site xDOh I don't work right now soo I guess my college will have to do... Umm.. yeah its got lots of rooms but its still way too open, the windows leave outterwalls way too exposed in most buildings. but it is a large campus I guess i'll look around for a few choice spots that could hold out.
