"MRE's are ok also canned food last quite a while."
I would reccomend canned food first, as you can eat them cold and you wouldnt need to use water or heat it up, where the later part would probably be something you could only do outside, as the power grid would probably fall fast.

MRE's you can add water to activate the heater to heat the food.

MRE's are lovely if you don't have to pay for them. I wouldn't recommend the ones from sportsmansguide they are extremely crappy compared to current issue. Do you find this valuable?

Grow a huge garden useing a hydro ponect system indoors(Or have a big bunker and a have genorator if power fails. You can all so have a vast water supply and have chemicals to make food bigger and healthy. Useing those lights to make plants grow will help to. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

]you will need to prepare the seedlings for the hydroponic garden then selecting a container to do your hydroponics you need to consider what type of plants you are planning to grow. Containers holding bigger volumes are good for long lasting plants or for plants which flower or fruit for a longer period of time. Wider containers provide more surface area to grow more plants or bigger plants that will help alot.

I mean rigging all of the plumbing and wiring necessary to provide the seeds with the water and light they need to grow. And that is a lot of work. Do you find this valuable?

To grow enough food to feed yourself from an indoor location you will need a VERY large building. It will require a considerable amount of electrical power for all those lights. Grow lights are not nearly as cheap as the common florescent bulb. It will also prove to be difficult to find them in large numbers. Do you find this valuable?

Yea. and a alot of resorces.and you have to check on the system on a basis of each 2 weeks. Unless you know what your doing then you should be ok for awile until you run out of water unless you have a unlimited sorce of water and fresh soil. a water system to get to the plants is easy to make. Collection have you ever rigged up hydroponics? I know a little about em and my brother grown a pea plant. It was pretty cool but by no mean practical. What kind of plants could you grow hydroponically? Something like corn would get to heavy and something like carrots would get soggy. How do you plan to run this hydroponic farm? How do you plan to get the electricity? How do you plan to get the water? What nutrients are you going to add to the water? Light source? PLEASE EXPLAIN.

Sorry about perpetuating the thread off topic but he made a silly statement.

"Doesn't take long for these things to go off topic."
True. However short term food supplies do run out sooner or later. Often sooner. You may buy enough to last you two years but end up with a group of people staying with you that you didn't plan on.

I know some people will say that they won't let anyone in. But most male members here would find it difficult to turn away two or three pretty girls who start beating on your door. Suddenly that two year supply turns into 6 months worth. Sooner or later you will have to start planting seeds. The sooner you start the better.

There are certin chemicals you add to the water to make the plants grow in any way. I guess you can use a genorator for electricity. I would grow tomatos water melon.. hmm.. cabbage certen peppers Peas. Do you find this valuable?

So ... you know almost NOTHING but yet you intend to make recommendations about what others should do?

Yes, you ARE very young.

Im just useing common sense. sooner or later your going to run out of dry food and your going to need to find a new sorce. im just giveing my opinion of what you could do if you run out or your runing low on food. anyone could learn how to use a Hydroponic system if they are willing to learn. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. You're really not. If you have no experience with something, don't tell other people to use it or rely on it. And Hydroponics isn't the easiest thing in the world, especially if you've never done anything like it and have no instructions for setting it up, so really your last statement is false.
