Extreme measures

There are also some rifle calibers that can fire other calibers. Following the methodology from the article35 Whelan shoots 338-06 shoots 30-06 shoots 270 Winchester shoots 25-06 What they have in common is rim size and headspace, they all shoot different size bullets so the smaller bullet will "rattle" down the barrel giving lousy accuracy. You could probably hit a barn, from the inside with the doors closed. With luck you would have reloadable brass after firing the undersized bullets. Do you find this valuable?

I agree with what you are saying here, under extreme measures, you can do that and you are correct in that it would at VERY short range could you possibly hit something. The best thing that would come from this is reloadable brass. There are other even more extreme examples like firing a .30 Luger in a 9mm. Same thing, but you have to be very careful as the pressures you are firing and I would only suggest to someone with advanced knowledge trying it. I didn't go into that because of the danger. The conversions I do list are safe conversions that having this knowledge would help you instead of putting you are more risk. However, what you propose is in fact safe to do in an emergency. I hope I never get that desperate....LOL! I would certainly to open to discussing the most extreme circumstances of which you can "improvise" ammo : ) Do you find this valuable? |

"my dads two 357.'s can fire 38's and i dont know about how it afected the power of the shot but it seemed to work ok by me"Actually, .357 mags were made to shoot .38 specials for practice as the .38's are cheaper to shoot. .38 sp in a .357 mag is quiet accurate, but using something even lower in velocity like a .38 Colt, would start to effect accuracy. In fact, I took my CCDW Instructors course shooting .38 specials in my .357 mag Ruger Security-Six : ) Do you find this valuable? |

i just wanted to comment that infact the tt-33 can shoot 30 mauser but guns for 30 mauser cant fire 7.62 toke. butthat isnt always the case modern 30 mauser is made slightly larger bullet. But the tt-33 was designed to shoot 30 mauser ideal the russians figured they could use captured german ammo but germans if they tried to use 7.62 tok it would have their guns blow up. also the cz-52 shoot a hotter 7.62 tok derivative reffered to as the chek load.
