Fighting Styles

I think that general MMA would be the most proficient fighting style against undead. I am currently a black belt in american karate and began MMA almost 6 months ago. The incorporation of jujitsu in MMA teaches the user methods of escaping grapples, the muay thai part of MMA teaches the user powerful kicks, which would be very good at keeping uncoordinated zombies away from you. The wrestling pat of MMa teaches throws and other methods of keeping an opponent down and away from you. Finally, the boxing part of MMA could theoretically help you break the jaw of a zombie as stated in the above article. I believe that if you are serious about zombie survival you should take a class in MMA as it would help you exponentially. Do you find this valuable?

Have you ever heard of fluid motion?
Basically, a zed will do whatever they can to get at you.

Think of it this way.

You drop kick a zed in the stomach,
The zed will basically take the kick and use the momentum from the kick to still try and get at you.

it would be incredibly hard to fight a zed with no weapons.

If you attack a zombie in the jaw and get a fight bite, you are toast.

Although using unarmed combat to take down a zombie isn't quite as impossible as some people make it out to be, I wouldn't be caught dead doing it. In that situation, escape first. If you're FORCED into an unarmed confrontation and can't run, then kick them or otherwise knock them over and THEN run. Do you find this valuable?

Strange how everyone advocates the fighting style they are learning as "the best" for a situation.

I think until you are a master of all the styles, you can't say something like that without sounding like a huge douche. Seriously, have you read your post from an objective standpoint? It's a little conceited.

All you can say with any authority is if a particular move would work or not. And even that you have to try them out with one person trying to bite the crap out of you. Even whilst being thrown, even whilst on the ground, their one goal is to bite any part of you they can.

I am a master of "Bad Monkey Jiu-Jitsu" and I declare it the best for fighting zombies.

The best way to utilize such a technique is to hang from a very tall tree and taunt the zombies till they get frustrated and walk away.
