Starters. Don't debate the scientific merits of one type over another. Enough back and forth has been done, and each type is likely, based on various factors. Prion disease can cause violent moods and affect co-ordination. Unless you are from a science background, don't debate the science of science fiction. The Runners are a more immediate hostile threat. They can close the distance, they almost have a kind of pack mentality, and they have liquid body fluids that can cause infection even before they are wounded. But they are like a fever. They burn out after a short time unless they can infect other people. Shamblers are less immediate, but longer term threat. You can run away with ease, even walk away. But they are relentless, and pervasive. They can last five years (Solanum) or even longer (DOTD). You have got enough armour there to do the job of protecting you. But if you are trying to escape runners, how fast and how long can you sprint wearing it? What is your field of vision like with the mask on? Can you get enough air if you are running full pelt until muscle failure? This plan is very much geared for the immediacy of the outbreak and Panic. So what do you have in mind for longer term? I can sprint a mile and a half with it in 6 minutes, so I'd safely assume I'm okay in my location. You're correct about the long term deal, but the plan I have for that is to head the two hour drive into the country for my fathers vacation home. Three inch doors, metal shutters, hurricane housing, easily enough to deter "shamblers", at least long enough to be dealt with. This is our family's disaster location, and we have enough food stocked to last years. All nonperishable, of course. I chose the most effective mask I could find, it had to be airtight but not allow itself to fog up, so I got some peripheral vision ones that have great view. I could easily see both sides of the street while standing on the curb and without turning my neck at all, if that's a good explanation. The filters allowed me to run over four miles without stopping, but this was just over a jog. We also have some old metal sheets that are a few centimeters thick to cover the easily accessed areas of the house with. The Vacation home used to be a chopper shop, so we also have a few welding torches and a lot of gas. Do you find this valuable? |

Some people have asked that I detail the inner suit more, so here.I can only describe it as a thermos like device. Like an ice pack that recycles cooled water with more cooled water. It's two wetsuits sewn together with a large plastic "bag" like object in between the suits. It makes all the leather, Composite plastic, and thermal shirt material easily bearable. It's around 85 degrees here now, so I decided to walk to the movie theater today. Haha! I figured a rifle slung over my back and two handguns weren't going to look great, so I left all the weapons home but took as much as I could. I walked all six miles there, stopped for around seven minutes, then walked back without delays in the normally blistering heat while I felt as if I was sitting in front of an air conditioner! Not a bead of sweat on me, and I could have easily doubled the walk with all the gear. I got a few people who work at Lowes to help me use the same stuff thermos refrigerators use on the inside of the suit. Not only can I wear all my armor and not get hot, but I can fill it with warm water and it'll stay warm as well! It's like a mobile air conditioning unit that doesn't require much maintenance. The water doesn't even have to be clean, but I won't drink it then. Overall I'm ecstatic about the finished product. Do you find this valuable? |

That undersuit may well be the single best item for Bugging Out. If you designed it, could you throw a page on with the designs?

"That undersuit may well be the single best item for Bugging Out. If you designed it, could you throw a page on with the designs?"Absolutely. I'd love to help in any way possible, and who knows, I may well find someone in my area who has a similar design! One of my friends in drafting class is going with me to Lowes tomorrow, we're going to give it another go-round to see if it works better compartmentalized. Right now, I've managed to make it so the water doesn't all fall to the bottom of the suit, and it feels great. Do you find this valuable? |

Alright guys, good news. My father jumped on board with disaster preparedness, and chipped in six thousand for food and supplies. By my calculations, at three meals per day a group of six would be able to last nine years in the house without going anywhere. I didn't mention that the "storm-proof" shutters and locks were actually meant to deter anything human. I'm stocked on the long term plan too, now. After that long all the dangers will have died out and I can use the land to produce my own food. Do you find this valuable? |

The suit sounds awesome. Is the outer suit tear-resistant? It would suck to have it tear and the water fall out. Also, does the suit have any armor against projectile weapons? Last, but not least, do you have a cooling agent inside of it, or do you count on the large surface area of your body to cool the water? It sounds awesome and I am going to try to make one. Last, but not least, do you have a cooling agent inside of it, or do you count on the large surface area of your body to cool the water? The outer suit is completely tear resistant, the Molle Vest and British riot gear can take small arms fire, but everything else is covered by resistant cloth, unfortunately. In a few days I'll post what the finished product looks like, as well as a step by step guide to make one yourself, with pictures included. :D Total cost for the inner suit was $320 U.S., including the fee from Lowes to put it together. Total cost for the outer suit was $630 U.S. Total cost off all that and the weapons intertwined: $4,320 (Including two USP .40 S&W, and a SIG 556 UE edition with large buffer stock and a 2-28*30 Scope.) Overall, I feel I'm not doing too badly. Test videos with the material on the outer suit withstanding multiple razor sharp blades will be coming soon. Do you find this valuable? |

How long does the coolant system work for? How much water does it hold? How well does it function as a heat insulation suit in colder weather?Do you find this valuable? |

"How long does the coolant system work for? How much water does it hold? How well does it function as a heat insulation suit in colder weather? You have impeccable timing, Pedro. Last night I left four thermometers inside the suit, which I put into a refrigerator. It's normally around 20-30 in my freezer, so I figured it'd be an alright test. Using 75 degree water, the thermometers didn't change from the inside of the suit. It was in the freezer from 9 P.M. to 5 A.M., and I quickly got into it to see how it felt. The outside was almost too cold to touch. I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell it had been in the fridge all night if I didn't keep touching the outside. I'll be doing stress tests soon, but so far it can easily last 8-12 hours freezing, and probably longer cooling. It gets around 20-30 sometimes at it's coldest in the winter here and at my dads vacation home, so this actually works really well. After the few tests, I'll post them on Youtube, and post the designs here. If anyone cares, that is. :D Do you find this valuable? |

A thermally balanced bite, scratch and bullet-proof (in certain places) zombie suit? Yeah, I think we care.

"A thermally balanced bite, scratch and bullet-proof (in certain places) zombie suit? Yeah, I think we care."I suppose. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far I have every vital organ covered, even ones that aren't shown. When all worn, I can't see any skin in a mirror apart from my heavily shielded eyes. Oh, and I have three raincoats that are meant to break apart using velcro, so if a Z. grabs me, I just jerk away and the raincoat is still in their hands. I can fold these rather large things into packages no large than a house phone. Do you find this valuable? |

Pictures up soon of the E.O.S.(Extreme Outbreak Situation) suit. News! I recently got a duffel bag to use as my B.o.B., and with everything in it it weighs 26 pounds. I did a few of the tests on this site such as the sweep test, and the conditioning test as well. Less than eighty seconds for my 4000sq ft. house, and I jogged six miles in all my gear and with my B.o.B. Other news, I picked up a civilian Heckler & Koch G36 at a gunshow a couple days ago for $700U.S., so it was a great deal. It fires the same ammunition as my Sig Sauer EU 556. I ended up getting a conversion kit to install any AR-15 stock on it, but I haven't had the time to install it. Questions, comments, concerns, etc? Do you find this valuable? |

"TIME OUT.Track and school, and if you do timed runs you should really try Parkour, Devil nuts. It's absolutely an amazing percent helpful in speeding up. It is a bit exaggerated, more around 6 minutes forty five seconds. Do you find this valuable? |

Wearing all that trash? Again, I am willing to invest 6:45 of my time watching this on youtube before I will believe it. Also, I would absolutely LOVE to see video of you jumping off rooftops and backflipping off walls with two wetsuits, a full-body bag of water, work pants, and all of the other crazy shit you are wearing. It isn't necessarily the run speed that is implausible to me, but a combination of that and this ridiculous custom getup you speak of. A picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth even more. Do you find this valuable? |

"G36, or SL8?"It's an SL8 with a machined barrel and A pistol grip stock, as opposed to the normal thumbstock. It's also got a shorter weaver rail for optics. I absolutely despise thumbstocks. SL8 are the only legal variant, but not many people know that so I figured I might as well use a well known version. Devilnuts, I meant in the suit, not in all the gear! Now I understand your concern with the plausibility of that. Also, "backflipping off walls" is freerunning, while parkour is about efficiency. Flips are wasted energy and time.
