I'm pretty sure armor piercing ammo is illegal almost everywhere....

Some cartridges penetrate armor without having to be specially designed to do so; most full power .30 caliber FMJ's will do the job. Milsurp Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54R, FMJ 30-06 or .303, 7.62 Nato/308 Win. will all certainly do it with non-expanding bullets. There's only 1 kind of handgun ammo that will punch through, and that's 7.62 Tokarev for the CZ52/TT33. The FN 5.7 cartridge has claimed to be able to do it in one loading, but that ammunition is extremely hard to find and no longer produced..

AP ammo is somewhat of a grey zone.

if they are in armor id go for a high powered weapon and hope to god that the zed is uncoordinated enough to fall over from it
thats if the bullet doesnt pierce the armor
if it does it'll take it down just because i would aim for the head with any shot i make

if the shot doesnt knock it over and its wearing some sort of helmet that would prevent it from biting, then i would just knock it over and then lift the visor with the barrel of my weapon and, i guess you could say fire for effect

Hello St. Ignoranus. AP ammo is not illegal, just totally expensive, but there is a miracle for older guns.....

Steel Core ammo. My friend owns a gun called a Dragonuv, I think that's what it's called, and shot through a 6 inch tree and out the other side.

Ugh, they are illegal in several states. The state where you CAN own AP ammo are also the ones that allow you to own grenade launchers.

what about the military? i dought they would die but in early stages they wouldnt be as aware. i can imagine a "few deaths" cause they would have to take in people after the hospitals fill up. in the bigining i can see people getting zombied in bases. that would be a pain if say 10 came in on a fortifyed position. that would be a hell of a day.

hopefully you got some ap rounds, a crack shot, or they cant run. if you dont have 1 of those you are screwed. what about ful protection? imagin a spec ops in mostly full armor waddling at you? living nightmare

"i cant get a shot"
"well shoot its foot"
"what?"
"trust me!"

baseball bat to the head/kneecaps shots, remove his head gear with a foot stepping on the neck, then stab it repeatedly in the head/ shoot it once.

alternative: put a leash on it.

Your full power 30 cal rounds will make short work of any body armor not backed by a ballistic plate. Helmets wouldn't do much to them.

Of course, you could aim for the center of the head, which is the ideal kill shot anyway....

to Jhon:
Most of us would not be using heavy rounds, nor AP rounds, many of us would probably end up using small arms.

Death Head:
Just so you know Death Head, If I get compromised, I am going to strip bung naked and see how long it would take me to turn into a zombie, and to see if I could make it to the Ocean.

I'm not sure about the not producing it anymore part. But I know that cabelas sells 5.7X28 in bulk, the sell 1,000 rounds for $410. I'm no bullet expert but that seams like a good deal to me. But I heard that the 5.7 is only AP if you buy the AP rounds (which aren't sold to civis).. Does anyone know if thats true or not?

.454 causall probably spelled it wrong in the Taurus Raging Bull if nothing else a shot to a helmet would snap the neck (good for fast or slow zeds) to the body armor should just about crush the rib cage or effectivly remove a limb(good for fast zeds slows down slow zeds) either way it knocks them down

and yes my helmet will be off
