I got lucky and found two on clearance at wall mart. During the two weeks we were out of power they were our main light source in the early mornings and late evenings. RE: no electricity Jul 13 2009, 8:30 AM EDT Electricity is not that hard to get, every car has an alternator so it's just to find someone with a little mechanical skills and ask them to take a few of them out. Then all you need to do is either build yourself a wind power plant (which will take a while) or hook them up to a car motor. Then you have plenty of electricity and a fire in your house... I don't think that such a great idea... if you don't have an open fireplace. Then you can always use the solar panels and gather car batteries which you also can load so that you can have the car/generator running on the day and then on the night you go over to silent battery power.
