My Plan
Jul 11 2009, 10:19 PM EDT
When I first hear of strange attacks my sister and i will arm ourselves with weapons and armor from our house and fight our way to the car. We'll go over to my friend's house (hopefully he's alive inside) and after i rub it in his face a little bit (he didn't believe me about Z-Day) we get his friends. Next we commandeer a radio station and an ice cream truck. We use the ice cream truck to tell people around town to turn on their radios. We then use the radio station to send survival info and tell them where to meet up. From there we organize the band of survivors into an small army and assault a nearby Walmart. We get supplies and find a place to launch attacks from for 6 months (about the time it takes for the national guard steps in). If they fail we get some buses and reinforce them. Then we skip town hopefully before the place is nuked. We'll use our convoy and create a nomadic society in the post-apocalyptic world that moves from place to place avoiding metropolitan areas and places being nuked. If I'm lucky my dog, Buster, and I can enter the K-Unit of the U.S. Military and fight in World War Z in which case i give my sister control over the new society. When the war is over we will settle in my neighborhood and name the new town to honor the ones in my family who fell in the outbreak.

I think you're the first person I've seen that included "spreading the word" of the zombies in your plan. A+ for that part.

This pretty good. Except for the fact that well ......THE ZOMBIES ARE EATING YOU. you forgot the fact that the Zombies would be Everywhere basically. You need also to take into fact that it may be a Worldwide outbreak. There is also the fact that it seems as from your reaction you are all just kids. One of the most important problems is you said when you FIRST hear of strange attacks you would arm yourselfs with WEAPONS (how?) and Armor (wtf?) then FIGHT your way to the car. Fight? When the strange attacks JUST came out on the news? More Importantly... An Ice Cream Truck? That is the most WORST idea for a vehicle, Ice Cream trucks have that one place in the back where There is a Huge Opening with no window. Do you find this valuable? |

Yes I am a kid and I know this sounds like annoying little toddler crap, but this is the best I could come up with off the top of my head. I'm thinking I'll hole up in my house and wait until the panic subsides before I start fighting anything. If I end up all on my own I'll just stay where I'm at until I find other survivors or just strap myself with explosives arm myself with whatever and try to kill as many as I can before I get bitten, at which point the explosives come in handy. If I die I'd rather die a martyr than a sobbing piss-pants. Also quick fun fact walmart sucks I might try somewhere more defensible with less area. Thank you for constructive criticism but please refrain from insults.

Look at how you can fortify your home. These are basic steps everyone can take, and require minimal time, effort or money. If you aren't prepared to do that, I can't really help you any further. See Pedro, the problem is that most of our newer users push aside your suggestions with the thought of: "Well sure, it'd be nice to be all prepared and stuff like these guys, but I'm 14 or 15 or whatever so how can I stock up on survival supplies? My only option is to raid Wal-Mart!"I can see why they think it. But honestly people. Do you even have a few gallons of water in your house? Water is free... you don't even need an allowance. Just talk about disaster planning in general. http://www.areyouprepared.com/v/vspfiles/EmergencyPreparednessGuidebook.pdf Download and print this, then go talk to them. If all you decide to do is to stockpile a little more canned food, and a few bottles of water, then you have at least made some progress. If you try to do it alone, then you simply do it SLOWLY. Buy a few cans and a couple of bottles of water each week. One week, buy a first aid kit instead. Start working out, just by running every day, and doing push up, sit ups. It doesn't take age, money or wilderness skills to prepare. Just a bit of thought, dedication and common sense. Do you find this valuable? |

This is excellent advice! The .pdf is a great source of information. And yes. you do have water in your house. There is even a viable source in your Hot water heater. But I think the point that StrykerPez is trying to make is "STAY AWAY FROM WALMART!" That's where everyone will go and so will the zombies. Avoiding population centers is NUMBER ONE on my list. And that means you got to have some basic supplies ready to go - IN A HURRY!.. Of course I wont pretend to know what others were trying to say but I think you both make excellent points. Actually we both say that. A lot.http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/The+Panic That's what led to the creation of this page. We had to say all that stuff so frequently, we needed a shorthand :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Keep in mind that the water in your heater will not taste as fresh as a mountain spring. In fact, it will likely not taste as fresh as your gym socks.Better to shell out the $10 on a 5 gallon bottle, the ones they use for office water coolers. You can just grab plenty of those and store them in your garage. Just remember NOT to store them on a concrete floor. The concrete reacts with the plastic and ***** up the water. Stand them on a couple of bricks (not concrete cinder blocks, it defeats the purpose) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
