On flechettes.Another reason why they aren't used (at least military-wise) is because from what I hear they violate the Geneva Convention. Amazing page Ironhand. Impressive work. Do you find this valuable? |

"I recall Germany actually tried to get shotguns banned under the Geneva convention at one point."Like I said I just heard it somewhere and from what I've seen they are brutal in CQC. Banning would explain why these beasts aren't used. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Like I said I just heard it somewhere and from what I've seen they are brutal in CQC.Well flechettes were dropped by the US Army for being inefficient, other nations, I don't know. I'm not sure if they were successfully banned or not. I know shotguns were used legitimately in WW2 and Vietnam. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yup. Called them Trench Guns. Apropose. "Many doughboys brought shotguns and pistols with them in WW1, in addition to the issued 1897 trench gun. In WW2, shotguns were most often used in the Pacific front for obvious reasons, but they could be acquired if you could convince the quartermaster you actually needed one. In vietnam, as far as I know, they just used remington 870s, Ithaca shotguns, whatever they got their hands on. There is a rather infamous video of this one squad using a rem 870 as a bong... "Ithacas hurt the wrist like you wouldn't believe!"Why? Is it because of their grip angle? Do you find this valuable? |

I'm guessing it's capable of managing, because from what I've heard and read, Ithacas are some of the best defensive/combat shotguns out there.

"Do you know if shotguns are restricted for combat against participants that fall under the geneva convention?"I'll check. I know everyone is familiar with the whole NATO standing on weapons calibers & such. Let me research for a little bit, It might take some time to get back to you on that. I'm pretty sure it's only about Ammo-Types for most weapons, but I think shotguns are OK. Let me check. -Freelancer47 Do you find this valuable? |

John_234.... I couldn't find anyting that said Shotguns were illegal. I did find a section of the Geneva Convention agreement stating that "Laser's" of a blinding type are not allowed.Anyone more versed in this subject care to educate? Do you find this valuable? |

"And? AK-47s while inaccurate at distance are still great guns. But if you are looking for accuracy it's lousy."I think you misunderstood what I was getting at. I was simply surprised to learn that it had such a disadvantage, because I'd never heard of it before, only good things about the Ithaca. It's all opinions and preferences anyways.
