First option would be to stay put with such a treasure trove!!!!after that there's the questions around what I already have, and what my "plan" is - do I have a particular spot to travel to, or some other task to complete - if it's simply moving from one spot to another then it'd be: .22 rifle .22 ammunition MRE water cleaver assuming I have my BOB for fire sources and can carry all that (would probably split the MRE case (if it's too heavy), and equally consider reducing the water if it worked into my plan. the rifle and ammo gives me options for defense and food/ signalling, etc the cleaver would be my kukri (combo axe/ knife/shovel,hammer) since my BOB has a smaller knife. For the interest of the community: although eager to add in my selection, on second thought, for the scenario, we are to assume that the former owner(s) will no longer need said items and therefore, fair game.I would like to point out that 'finding' someone's BOB or stash while foraging should contain additional caution (besides getting killed by zeds) whenever you do manage to come across something too good to be true. I, for one, would not take too kindly to seeing an unknown person carrying an armful of my stuff. I'm normally inquisitive but I do believe that I would ask no questions and simply open fire. Think about that. I Do you find this valuable? |

Here's my lead! but this was a general abandoned house scenario, so no worries about a big guy on the hill with a Saiga 12g and a pair of sunglasses : ) (how's that, Major?) I figured that but I would like to add that just about everything will be 'abandoned' if not currently occupied and I've made some comments (on the SNC thread about crime & punishment) that 'minor' offenses may be met with the ultimate penalty. Looters, thieves, highwaymen and the like will be dealt with harshly by me. Everyone who fantasizes themselves a 'raider' on this site smacks in the face of preparedness and 'survivormanship' by only planning to take from others. Stealing is not a victim-less crime, items are being taken from someone. This is not a soapbox rant, just a view that I feel needs to be presented. I am sure that I am not alone. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you try to steal from somebody you take your chances, if they catch you be prepared to get shot. Looters do not last long, so you should keep that in mind when your going through a person's belongings. The house may seem abondoned, but unless you find the bodies of the owners expect them to come back. Do you find this valuable? |

"With as many guns as you have, I think sharing the toys with the rest of the class would be the right thing to do. Especially for a dapper frog in desperate need of an AK."the key word being 'sharing' meaning to share with someone indicating mutual trust; trust is inclusive in a positive relationship. I will share for the betterment (survival) of those with me and my overall plan includes that option (in abundance, I can fully equip a squad or two) vice 'borrow' since I also intend for strings to be attached (under positive control by me). Weapons/ammo and equipment will be used under orders, not just handed out. Not as hard ass as the Army, but there is a certain level of expectation, maturity for one. Joking aside, if I am not willingly issuing a weapon, I will be joyfully taking out the first 3000 who try to take anything. Do you find this valuable? |

Maggie, the chocolate lab mutt. Fireman's Axe. Combat Boots - size 13 1 Case MRE's 4 gallons of water (distilled) This is based off of the assumption that I get to keep my clothes, keys, phone, wallet, book, iPod, and Sodbuster pocket knife. The dog, because of companionship purposes, along with a light burden off of my back, once she's grown. Besides, I still have pictures of how cute my dog was back when she was a puppy. The axe, because, let's be honest, it can be a great asset, however you put it. (not anally, however) Boots, because I want to hold it over the size 9'ers out there. MRE's and water - self explanatory. Do you find this valuable? |

You can share your car. You can share your only meal. You can share your last gallon of water. You can even share your boat. But you can never share a dog. 10 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

Anyone think this house is too good to be true?I mean if the owner had this much stuff they prolly wouldn't have to leave right? Of course with so many guns and the MRE's one could reason this person is military of some variety or at least a wannabe commando and perhaps they had tons of supplys and only took the best of it? Still why leave a puppy behind? I'm just saying, If there is say a random bottle of wine in the middle of the roadway. Do you stop to get it? Mabey its a shiny chrome 38? Do you stop and get out go get it? It would seem suspicious but possibile when people are dropping gear running from zombies. Do you find this valuable? |
