Babies...

I would think that one would need to procreate, to fill up the massive void left by zombies, but ONLY in a safe zone, completely free from zombies and highly protected. You wouldn't wanna go and make babies in an unsafe environment. you would just be adding more to Zack's ranks. And if you meet any children in Zombie territory, that'd be a hard choice, depending on the armament, training and general competence that you and fellow survivors have. should you take the little kid you found hiding in his mom's pantry, clutchin' his father's antique matchlock pistol, or leave him for Zack? that choice is up ta you. I don't see myself wanting to procreate for a few years until order starts to form... Or there is a safe zone to live in... An actual safe zone with a secure perimeter and enough armed guards to fight off a horde if one found it. That reminds me though...(leaving to throw a box of condoms in bug out bag there probably wont be any birth contol pills laying around to pick up) and back... But I couldnt imagine myself leaving a small child for dead. That's not who I am.... I suppose you never really know what you would do until you were in that situation. If I absolutely had no room for anymore survivors I would put one in his head. He'd probably seen enough and I wouldnt want him to suffer anymore Do you find this valuable?

Just remember, those things expire, and so do most forms of birth control.

At some point, someone will get pregnant.

Wait until the time is right then go at it like drunk monkeys. If more women survive than men then stud yourself out.

To quote Dr. Ian Malcolm, "Life will find a way. Life always finds a way."

Nature makes babies, not intellect.

Maybe I am cold but i wouldn't take anyone with out a 100% check for infection and if they fought, I'd kill them, My life or there's. Shitty decision but someone has to make it. Do you find this valuable?

Interesting side thought....

Do you think the infection could be spread through breast feeding? If mom is infected but not yet turned, could junior become infected off the teet?

Why not it is a body fluid, and it could contain the virus. If babies can get the HIV from their mother while breast feeding why not another type of virus.

Most likely.

However with my 6 day old sprog, I'd have to say survivability is decreased until I meet with other survivors. Let's face it, people love babies.

Not to mention I've been told that when my baby grows up to be a functional teenager my survival rate will probably double.

You could be a total asshole and people would aid you for the sake of your child. If you were a reasonable and likable person you'd be treated exceptionally well. I know myself as well as my wife would go out of our way to aid someone with a baby in tow.

Would all men be forced to have sex with multiple women to help reproduce or will you be stuck with the same old hag you survived with. Not that the answer will at all affect how much help my wife gets from me-(thinks hehe).
Will there be a need for actresses with black hair and cat shaped blue eyes who play doctors on amusing TV shows to reproduce almost non stop?

Upgrade????? Like she wouldn't have a gun cleaning accident if that came up. As I said my wife's survival depends on my proximity to particular actress who plays a doctor on a very popular TV show that rhymes with-ah-rhymes with House and the need to repopulate the world with said children of the amazingly hot black haired blue eyed actress.
Mind you in reality my wife would cut my nuts off and 13 from House wouldn't piss on me if I were in flames.

What if you're clinicly sterile? Would that get me removed from the humping rotation? Do you find this valuable?

Uh, yes. You can stand guard while we proven studs perform our duty for the community.

Slightly seriously though, the point of survival is ensuring our continuation as a species. To abandon a small child to certain death is unacceptable. Sacrifice the elderly if you must but children are the future of humanity.

Watch Children of Men to see what I'm talking about, no kids=no point in fighting at all, might as well shoot yourself and save the effort.
