Stoeger Coach gun.

One of the guns I've liked for a while now is the Stoeger Coach gun. Even though I've never shot it, it's cheaper than most double barrels, and, from what I've read, seems pretty reliable. So, if anybody uses one, what do you think? Would it be good against zombies? It seems like it would be good either as a backup, or to give to someone inexperienced (since all double-barrels are really simple.) 'Cause, if so, I gotta stand in front of a crowd of 'em and say: "Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up...." (Of course, that would probably get me killed, but it would be worth it.) 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

You're not the only one. I've always liked a DB. They're like a two shot automatic thats almost guaranteed not to jam. I've heard good things about Stoeger's line of coach guns. However they aren't the perfect weapon to hand someone who is inexperienced. It would take someone with balls of brass to calmly load one while under attack. Also you can buy a pump action shotgun for as much as or even less than a coach gun. A Remington 870 is one of the most popular and reliable shotguns on the market. If Bruce Cambell had both his hands I bet he'd use one. Do you find this valuable?

Coach guns are - by the nature of their design - dead simple, rock solid and a great addition (or beginning) to any personal arsenal. The Stoegers are good guns ... period. With some practice, you can fire/reload at a pretty decent rate. Do you find this valuable?

i didn't think about that. Yeah, that would be kind of a problem.

Oh, and yes, I know you can buy pumps for as much or less than a Stoeger, I was just saying that, of DBs, the Coach looks like one of the best options. (Also, I'm left-handed, so Remington's don't work as well as Mossberg pumps or DBs for me.)

And finally, while it isn't known for sure, the gun used by Ash in Army of Darkness was most likely a Stoeger Coach, and not a "Remington" like he said (according to IMFDB anyway.) That was one of the other reasons I liked it so much.

While I don't actually own a Stoeger, I d have a double barrel "stage coach' 12 ga. I think it's Russian, the maker is Lake Baikal (I think), and the model is the Bounty Hunter (too cool). It looks almost exactly like the one Ash carries, short length and everything.

One of the things I love about it is that it breaks down into 3 pieces, the longest of which can easily fit into a back pack. I sometimes carry it when I go camping.
Sure, it's only 2 shots, but 2 shots of 12 ga. makes for a dandy little cannon if you need it.

Ironhand, thanks for telling me about that page. It was pretty cool. I've never really had any use for a shotshell belt (since I normally just deer hunt) but I'm seriously considering getting one now. Do you find this valuable?

Cool, thanks. I used to use an Verona O/U for hunting, and it never did me wrong. However, I personally like SxS guns better (in no small part due to their use in movies.) Stoeger normally makes pretty good guns. In fact, one of my uncles has likened their 2000 to a Benelli, only cheaper. Do you find this valuable?
