Survey says...

I could use some help in researching the next part of this article.I need to know several things about your local store. *How big it is, in sqaure feet. You can use Google Earth to measure length x width. *How high they stack things. Don't go nuts on this. Rough numbers is fine. *How much of the floorspace is actually devoted to food. Fresh, frozen, dry goods, etc. *How much of the warehouse (if they have one) is used to store food. If I can get five or so complete sets of data I will be able to guess at an average number for all stores. Do you find this valuable?

My local CVS is 40x52 feet. They stack things about 5 feet high, cosmetics mayhap a few inches higher. Only about 200 square feet is actually all food, but most is useless (candy, power drinks, etc.) They have no warehouse, however, there is a fully stocked pharmacy. Do you find this valuable? |

Cheers for replying, but I'm looking for the large WalMart stores, since everyones WalMart plan tends to be in the big ones.

They stack about eight feet high, I'd say about a quarter to a third of space is devoted to food. Any other questions? Do you find this valuable? |

Akerris, I can't tell on Google Earth which building it is. Can you do the measurements because I don't want to get the wrong one?

There are two basic types of walmart -- One of them is the "superstore" with the grocery store, and there are also walmarts that have no grocery store and only sell the other shit. Do you find this valuable? |

All walmarts sell some kinds of food. Most will have one or two freezer / fridge aisles and then 4 or 5 non-perishable aisles. The Super WalMarts have an entire department with fruits and veggies, a bakery, a deli; basically an entire Ralphs or King Soopers crammed into another store.

I could use a few more measurements here, just to be as accurate as possible.

"Got Asda?"Nope. I understand what you're getting at though, I realised a long time ago that heading to the supermarket is a silly idea. Prematurely though. I have an amusing alternative. Once people have the food that they got from the riot, where are they going to bring it...... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
