1. RE: Basball Bat or a Cricket Bat
Aug 27 2009, 5:13 PM EDT
"I cant decide which would make a better melee weapon a Basball Bat or a Cricket bat, Suggestions ? "You have to weigh the pros and cons in this one. For example, baseball bats come in the standard wood and aluminum (preference to the wood for strength) where as a cricket bat comes in wood only (aluminum was once used [ComBat] but never caught on). Another would be that cricket bat has a larger striking surface but this would cut down on swing speed. Baseball bats are very aerodynamic but have a smaller striking surface. Finally A cricket bat has to different types of strikes to use it as a melee weapon. The smaller corners and the main striking surface. A baseball bat has only one because of its rounded shape. When it comes down to it, they are both pretty well balanced, I like the baseball bat because of it's durability and the cricket bat because of its paddle like striking area. It's up to you to decide what you prefer though. Hope I helped! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I would prefer baseball simply because I am more familiar with it. Do you find this valuable? |

"I cant decide which would make a better melee weapon a Basball Bat or a Cricket bat, Suggestions ? "Turning the cricket bat to use the edge as a striking surface makes it a more powerful weapon. The flat edge would be better for defense. In my opinion the cricket bat is more useful, but almost impossible to find in the US. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Turning the cricket bat to use the edge as a striking surface makes it a more powerful weapon.Very true, maybe in preparation you should order one from the U.K. I find that even though a baseball bat can do alot of damage its too light and you can only swing it fast, whereas a cricket bat would have a harder hit, thats why i'd choose a cricket bat, and suprisingly baseball bats are common over here 0 out of 1 found this valuable. You know, I thought you were a cool guy until you wrote that and I believe alot of people felt the same... Do you find this valuable? |

Also, he was just pointing out the fact that you can (and should) search before starting a topic, he's entitled to his freedom to try to help other posters, and even if you're entitled to being a dick to someone trying to help, doesnt mean you should. And just because we'r only two people talking out loud doesnt mean that we'r the only two people who thought about it. And I mean, it's not like you see a big post saying that you should use the search box before posting a thread. Oh wait, there is! On to the topic ; Just pick the one who you are the most familiar and got most experience with, a big gun is useless (or tool, or melee weapon, hell anything) unless you know how to handle it. Personally I would go with a baseball bat, the design makes it easy to swing it, if you're using a wooden baseball bat you'll have the weight helping making the impact harder and they'll last a while too. Plus they are in fact quite easy to make if you got the tools. Do you find this valuable? |
