You described the land yachts as slow yet your picture is one a drag strip. Do you find this valuable?

My buddy has a 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a built 455 motor, cammed, ported, the works. It tops out at 100 because of the gearing - it's "4 on the floor", no overdrive, with a 4.10 rear end. Gets a whopping 8 mpg. Pulls an easy 11 second quarter mile. Big freaking car too.

My sister's KIA Optima 5, while not nearly as good at accelerating, with it's whopping 2.0L engine which might produce 110 horsepower, tops out at 125 mph. I've reached it before. Scary stuff because the tires aren't rated for that and it gets shaky.

Depends on your definition of land yacht. A 1980 Ford LTD with a 302 is going to have crappy acceleration and top out pretty low, despite having an engine with plenty of potential. Same with a Chevy Celebrity and many other vehicles in the large vehicle dept.

A land yacht that is quick is a muscle car.
