in the scenerio that they break through ur defenses, then all your live stock would be kill. and there isnt anything show that you would have defense up other than the wall and the retreating battle stratagy. i would suggest that you move the live stock to the back and posting gruad tower in the front

You may have a good point, but I can't make sense of your post. Please try to use proper sentence structure and spelling. Do you find this valuable? |

The reason for the livestock on the lower tiers is because they are infinitely more mobile than plants. They can be moved up a tier when trouble first shows up. If you have crops on the lower tiers, they can't be removed, and will be trampled. If you fight off the horde, then you would still have lost that seasons crops. And the guard towers are houses. If they were on the lower tier, then if it was swarmed, even temporarily, you have lost the shelter, food and comfort they provide. Do you find this valuable? |

Plus, this is supposed to be on an island, so the number of zombies there should be fairly limited.

"Plus, this is supposed to be on an island, so the number of zombies there should be fairly limited."Very true, the highest population is about 150,000. Even if an outbreak occured there, there should be fewer zombies than that left by the time they reach me, because of other humans killing them (and each other in The Panic). Even with an influx of refugees, I expect there will not be enough zombies to breach all 5 lower tiers. Do you find this valuable? |

"The multi-tiered idea means that one breach is not the end of the base.what i am suggesting is to have a basic watch tower. Not a house, so during the day while working, your men can have a better view of the outer walls, and if you have this then there is more readiness in case HUMAN attackers come. "what i am suggesting is to have a basic watch tower. Not a house, so during the day while working, your men can have a better view of the outer walls, and if you have this then there is more readiness in case HUMAN attackers come. "Watch towers aren't really needed. The wall is only two feet high on the base side, so everyone can see over it fine. The day and night guards will be at the four corners of the top tier, which is 58' above ground level. There are also two guards, one at the first tier and one at the second tier. They will be there mostly to operate the gates if needed, otherwise they can keep an eye on the livestock. Since I still have electricity, we can use CB radios for everyone to communicate. Guard shifts and positions are discussed in Part 4. This thread is really about Part 3: Food. If I were to build towers, they would cast long shadows, which would be bad for the crop area, and bad for the solar panels on the roofs. The four guards on the top tier have a 58' elevation already, and any more would be a trade in clarity for distance. At 100', they would likely miss threats, since they would appear to be so small, and difficult to spot. Do you find this valuable? |
