This is a good idea. Triage is normally done by civie's and it is supposed to be done quickly and efficiently. As an instructor at a camp, I have been trained in the states emergency triage system.START is the system used in California, it stands for Simple Triage And Rapid Treatment. Use a black oil pencil, or even a regular crayola marker and CLEARLY write on the victims forehead. U= Unsalvageable. This covers your "Black and Brown." Seeing as both have the same outcome, there is no point in separating the two. We use "U" for unsalvageable and and not "D" for dead because "D" is "Delayed." Explained in a moment. Unsalvageable includes anyone who needs intricate attention to stay alive. CPR is labor intensive. A gushing open artery is labor intensive. I=Immediate. Immediate attention is needed. This includes applying a splint, opening an airway or something of that sort. This is your red. D= Delayed. Requires medical attention, however walking is not an option. M=Minor, This is a sprained ankle, minor problems. This is your Green I am not quite sure where to put your Blue. Maybe a secondary mark on the victim. Q? Purple I personally don't think needs to be marked. Do the dirty deed and be done. If you still want a mark, maybe "Z"? This is a simplified version of the California Emergency system. If you want more information you can go here: http://www.disasterfirstaid.com/rapidtriage.html They use a tagging colored system, but a marker on the forehead is accessible to more people. I like your system as well it seems to translate almost directly, I just want to share the START system that is already in place. Do you find this valuable?

Whilst I agree that Black and Brown are the same thing, I have to disagree with your placement of the others in the START systemThe Red, Yellow and Green in the page clearly translate directly to the Red, Yellow and Green of the Start system The only difference is the Blue and Purple are quarantine markers. They would exist alongside the RYGB system, since someone can be infected, but otherwise fine. The page warrants an edit to get it all in place, but the existing system is sound. You are correct. I was distracted while typing this, I forgot Minor completely. =) Thank you! Editing now.
