hmmm idk the hardware armor is tempting but the vehicle is also useful but due to the fact that once your vehicle runs out of gas all that armor becomes sorta useless lets go with hardware armor woot first comment

hard ware armor is easy, just get you some thin sheet metal (reasonably so) a rivet gun w/ plenty of appropriately sized washers, and some tin snips. for head and leg gear. moto x helmet + catchers bottoms for the front. Do you find this valuable? |

I believe you should go with the ''Armouring A Car'' page because from what I've seen, there are many people around here who include the use of cars as a major part of their plan.

I would say that the armoring of a car is rather easy. The construction of a armor would be much appreciated.

No it isn't. Unless you armor an old Volvo, you're applying armor to odd shapes and contours, you need to handle sharp tools or hot welders in the vicinity of glass would could easily be broken, you have to factor in preserving visibility, weight, etc.Simple armor would be well, simple but anything more indepth is rather complicated actually. inu-dude has a great point.Shattering glass not only damages the car, but can be dangerous also. And plus a car won't have a long life after z-day. the fuel goes bad, you run out of it, it breaks down, etc. The personal armor can last you a long time if maintained, so I vote for that :D Do you find this valuable? |

"Do the car, please. It would be more useful for me. "On that note. Do both :D Any armored car is better than a regular car. Do you find this valuable? |

That's BS. Our 1999 Subaru sat for two years waiting on a new trans. We swapped in a pretty beat one and with a jump from our 05' GT it fired right up. Like stupid fast. And that was on gas that was over two years old becaue the car had been sitting before we moved it to my uncle's garage where it spent two years sitting. And were it not for a clutch spring popping out in the freezing cold, and the car being driven fifty miles through a snow storm on said clutch, the car would have never had a problem to begin with. Our 98' Eclipse needed a gasket, and the gas oxidized in the 5 months it was sitting. Ended up gumming up the whole fuel line and carb once we tried to run it again. Wouldn't start after that :\ Ps. It was expensive to get it cleaned -_- Do you find this valuable? |

i dont understand why every ones like " oh, cars break all the time, and everything that has more than 10 moving parts is gona be junk in two weeks" my 1997 suburu outback has 310,000 miles on it, and is still going strong. i let it sit for a year because i went to england, but i took the battery out. i came back, popped the battery in, turned the key "woog woog woog Vroom" simple as that, car brands depend on reliability, VW, die alot, suburu's are invincible, best car ever, as for SUV's, get a hummer, like the old H1's, or better yet, a HMVEE, you know, the original off road vehicleDo you find this valuable? |
