"Thanks for taking up for us man LOL.. Having been a Ranger. He's totally right. Rangers are dropped in deep cut off from reinforcement or resupply. We were more closely related to guerrilla units like Merrill's marauders.We were out in the field 8-10 days at a time and everything we needed we carried.I love Marines but their constant chest beating and miss representing reality is pathetic. Their accomplishments are enough to be proud of. And rightly so. But to always twist their rivals accomplishments or mission abilities is childish and wrong. I know people that I trained and encouraged to join the Rangers. Comparing Rangers to Marines is like comparing Light Infantry to Mechanized Infantry. Different animals with different skills and jobs. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Simple answer any military force can be overwhelmed. Luck plays a big role in battle sometimes it just isn't on your side.
