A, B, C or D it just doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter if you pick gun A or gun B. The discussions here on "wutz best?" will never end and I know I won't be the one to end it (hey it can be entertaining). I've been here a while and watched the flames rise on the perfect gun for all situations and I'm going to say it just doesn't matter.None of you are going to be a one man army because thats only in the movies. Survivors, true survivors will depend on one another. How you work as a group will factor largely into your chances of making it. Judging by how some of you treat one another here it won't matter what kind of weapon you choose because if you can't be civil to one another here, how will you fit into a group out in the world? A persons temperment, personality and their ability to work as a team matters more than their "weapon of choice" IMO. Thats why I believe folks with military backgrounds will do well post-Z. They have learned through their training how to work together as a team as opposed to many other occupations where everyone is out for themselves. Please explain to me where I am wrong in my philosophy. 35 out of 35 found this valuable. Do you?

I kinda wonder how much of it has to do with being young and not in a family unit either? Not everyone, but enough to make me wonder. It seems to me that for most guys (not enough active women to make a guess), that until they have families of their own, they are oblivious to the needs of others.Again, this isn't everyone (I've met enough men to know otherwise), but a general observation coming from a woman with a family of her own to look after. So, I don't think you are wrong in your assessment. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nope you're right. It's just people who think that all they have to do is pick up a gun, go outside and start racking up the kills. Or that they'll be able to go lone wolf. A lot of people will die when they could have easily lived if they had just listened to good advice from other people if this ever happens. So yeah I think you're spot on. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

TimberRattler did it again...I fully agree TR. There's a great saying that I keep hearing & I think it applies to what you're saying: Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians. Team work may not be the thing that will save everyone in a Zed Poc... but getting along with people as either a Team or as a Lone Wolf will matter. Remember that quote I put up on a different thread in regards to "Solo vs. Group Survival"? "Mister, you gotta lot to learn about people." Malachi "Mal" Johnson. Honestly this is one of those things that you can't pin on Parents, Morals, etc... Some people are just going to be who they are, and in some peoples cases... I'm staying away from them. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You know, I wonder what you are going to do with all of them as well.agh, another idea swiped (extra arms) so damit. About a squad of clones will do though since I can fully equip one or two w/combat spares. :-) If the 'global' economy continues to tank, I won't regret my substantial investment in the true precious metals: copper, lead, blue & stainless steel, brass. And my 3 stocks: wood, synthetic and folding. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I like that. I don't mind trading in green pieces of paper for weapons and ammo. I agree that more is needed than just guns, but it sure is nice to know that you can equip a small fighting force if need be :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'm glad to see that some of ya'll have a little common sense. It doesn't matter if you have a chain gun or a .22 LR, long as you have a good head on your shoulders and make the right decisions you will make it through.Do you find this valuable? |

I'd be looking for people that know stuff I should know but didn't devote enough time to.. Fishing Hunting Carpentry etc... 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Hell, I'm an educated mind with a firearm... I'd be looking for people that know stuff I should know but didn't devote enough time to..True, it would be a good thing to seek out people who have skills that complement your own. Wouldn't it be prudent to brush up on those skills now though while you have the chance? Having grown up in small town Nebraska I grew up hunting, fishing, working on the family farm and I would like to think of myself as a well rounded individual on most things. I'm not trying to claim that I know everything there is to know about everything, but I am confident that I could survive either alone or in a group setting. Do you find this valuable? |
