Marbles are cheaper than ammo, and a PB gun is quieter than a firearm.Test the concept. I know you can f*** somebody up with frozen paintballs. Bonus points for substituting air for CO2 and adding a hand pump to refill. Do you find this valuable? |

Maybe. I wouldn't go for it, though, because a *good* paintball gun costs about the same as a rifle, and not many people stockpile marbles. Forget about how cheap they are, they aren't as prevalent as ammunition.Add the inaccuracy of a paintball gun, as it is for the most part meant as a spam weapon, and you can see why a firearm is more preferable. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. You should always use what you've got. you'll never have the piercing power of a bullet... but the idea may have some merit. You'll have to try it out though. I know from experience, if you're useing a cheap-ish gun and paint something as small as a cold day can cause your gun to jam ( paint expands or something ) so they're prone to failure.. and the wrong sized marbles could do some damage to your marker... It would also depend on the power of the marker... If it can put a lot of momentum behind a relatively heavy marble, then it can do a fair amount of damage, but that's a big IF. Also, though it wouldn't be hard to find marbles, or even make marbles ( and you might even be able to re-use some of the marbles ) those C02 canisters empty fast, and aren't too common, so you'd have to stay near a method of re-filling them. Having said all this, If your choice is a paint marker+ some marbles, or your fists, the choice is obvious. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

In my expirience, this wouldnt work that great. With the accuracy of a paintball gun, with marbles, it wouldnt be efficient - youd be better off getting a rifle. If, say, your gun IS accurate, then its most likely because of the barrel - and shooting marbles out of it is going to destroy it pretty quickly. And some paintball guns arnt that quiet - my A-5 barks like the AK its made to look like... People can hear it for quite some distance...As for filling it, You need a compressor. A hand pump, into a holding container, isnt going to go up to 3000 or 4500 PSI that you need for even a decent number of shots. And remember, they are heavy maintanence. O-rings, lubricants, batteries for electric hoppers and guns, extra peices like regulators, bolts, hoses, etc... Edit: With the bow you wouldnt have to worry about air, but you still have the barrel issue.... If youve got nothing else, then try it out, but if you can, look elsewhere.... Necropost, and the paintball/marble idiocy is debunked elsewhere. Locked.
