quality vs quantity

as far as i know, america has more ar15's than ak's, and m4's and m16's without an actual gas piston tends to jam a lot. a test has proven that m4 in a dust chamber has an average 68rounds / jam ratio. But for ak's, every ak would work as long as you keep the trigger mechanism and mags away from rough sands.

Now the ar15's has excells at accuracy and quantity. however, the reliability and the 556's stopping power are a major concern.

as for ak's, it excells at reliability and firepower. however, ak's are way fewer than ar's.

so what would you go for? any professional tips?
