to put these plans into action we need one thing, zombies. i was wondering what whould be the best way to get the word out on z-day for those who are not in the primary infection zone (if this thread already exists, if its not too much trouble point me in the direction of it i want to see it). Well, first and foremost, I would expect to see a page on the zombie survival wiki saying

"Z-day has come"
Secondly, I would expect most of us sending word to any media they can talk to.

I would probably be able to tell by the mass riots, pillaging, raping, people running around brandishing firearms and other weapons, and dead bodies eating people that it wasn't your average day.

You would need proof. Because of the so-called rise of "citizen journalism" everyone thinks they are the next Hunter S Thompson.

Problem is that real investigative journalism takes a level of integrity that is just not granted to anonymous faces on the Internet. Hoaxes are so common that every single photo and video is now judged to have been doctored in some way, whether is has or not.

If you were to put up a video of people being eaten by zombies, the reactions would be (a) hoax (b) viral marketing for an independent movie (c) health industry scaremongering (d) ignore it (e) wait a second... (f) ucking zombies!!

Even on this site, we have trolls claiming the existence of zombies every week. Cynicism is the staple food of the internet. Until one of the mainstream media outlets, or a government body issues a press release confirming the zombies are real, no-one will listen.

So even if one of us was to mount expeditions to find zombies deep in the Brazilian forests, or the jungles of Africa, or the mountains of China, and come back with video proof that was to replace the main page of this site, no-one would believe it.

In fact, even if I had captured a zombie, encased him in a perspex box, and took it on a world tour to prove to people that they were real, no-one would believe it. They would think it was just a determined actor and we were running some kind of PT Barnum-esque sideshow scam.

For what it's worth, I am setting up a mass warning system. A combination of phone, SMS, e-mail, website and even (the much hated bastard) twitter. Friends and family will be subscribed to it.

They don't know it is for zombies, I just billed it as a general early-warning system. I now do government work, so it carries a little more weight and I don't seem like a crazy person yelling "REPENT, SINNERS!" Thanks, economic collapse, terrorism and flash floods!

All the system will do is send out test messages every six months, one automated phone call (leaving a voicemail if necessary), one text message, one e-mail, one twitter.

The real message will look something like this. "PedroAsani requests your company at the earliest possible convenience. BNA"

I figure that if there is an outbreak, people will be monitoring the communications systems for signs of Panic. So rather than "The End Is HERE! RUN, ********! RUN!! Come to my bunker in Guadeloupe" I will simply use an airport code. Everyone can then book a flight to that airport, and I will send more directions further on, or have a ride waiting when they land.
