Hey Iron hand, i got a question. Im new to computers so this may sound stupid, but how does E-bay work? I only ask cause im tryiny to replace my knife. When i was with the First special Forces Combat Action Group At Bragg, I was issued an EMERSION CQ-C6 folder that i kept wen i disscharged. Last year it was stolen, and production stopped in 98', an altho ive gone to several knife showes, i cant find one. I know im gonna have to coff up at least $1200.00 for one, but im prepared for that. Think u could help me track one down? Anny help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

I dont know of any knife that costs over a grand this sounds false to me, but i could be wrong. I have 6 folders that I carry at all times along with my fixed blades. One is a SOG Access Card which i have on some cord around my neck, a Benchmade MK1, A SOG type multi tool (not really a knife i suppose), a Camillus demo knife, a Blackhawk Pointman automatic, and a spyderco captain. My fixed blades include a good old fashioned KA-BAR, and a Blackhawk Kalista 2.

You should have a paypal account to pay for what you buy but if the seller is OK with it you as a buyer can still send a money order or check. If you do an ebay search for Emweson folder you will see a CQC 7 with a buy it now price of about $140 ..The CQC 7 is a very simular knife to the CQC 6 only that it is factory made and not hand made I am a little confused when you said you were "Issued" a CQC 6 because all CQC 6 were private purchase knives and never a military issue knife.I think Emersion made around 300 of them with many going to SEALs where they were an "IN" knife to own Because of the limited numbers made and the fact it wasn't that long ago chances of a used one turning up on ebay may be remote.Emersion still makes this model I believe but I think has a long waiting list. Nothing wrong with being a knife collector and I can understand wanting one because of that [ though personaly not my type of knife ] but if you just want a good knife plenty of them out there that will serve you the same or better and can easly be found for much less .....T Do you find this valuable? |

What ODA were you with maybe we know some of same guys. Anyway I would try the ebay route and see if you get lucky if not you can order it right off thier website. Do you find this valuable? |

The CQC 6 was a hand made knife made by the knife maker Enest Emerson who is sort of thought of as the father of the tactical folder first devoloping them in the 1980s. I don't know what he sold them for but I am sure not cheap, is not unusual for a custom knife to cost well over $1,000. The knife maker I apprenticed under sold his for as high as $10,000I believe Emersion sold the design of the CQC 6 to Benchmade which with minor changes made it as the CQC 7, I think Gerber made some knives of his desing as well. Finally Ernest Emersion started his own manufacturing bussiness that made these knives too....These are factory made knives and not a hand made knife like the original CQC 6 so really we are talking apples and oranges.....T Do you find this valuable? |
