CoC Rule 14 Suggestion
Dec 6 2009, 12:33 AM EST | Post edited: Dec 6 2009, 12:33 AM EST
"Any of these rules may be changed at a moments notice, and it will be up to you to find out what the new rules are, and abide by them."

Okay now I might be a black sheep on this but I don't make it a habit of checking the Codes of Conduct regularly. Might I suggest that when a rule is changed the Mods/Admins send out a sitewide PM to notify us?
Just a general outline of the change and/or reasoning for it if required and the CoC page link.

Sure.

But the rule is there to protect the staff as a whole.

For example:
Bob reads the CoC last year.
Administration changes a rule/adds a common sense rule.
Bob breaks this new change of a rule/rule as a whole.
Administration warns/bans Bob.
Bob calls foul play.
Bob is *technically* right.

In this, we are preventing the aforementioned situation from happening.

If you want to re-word it so it doesn't sound as straightforward, go for it, and then post it.

I'm not saying to get rid of a rule. Just send a PM whenever a rule is changed. Very little excuse for a PM announcing a rules change to be ignored.

Also maybe make a standardized template then making the sending of a forgery bannable so that when the sender registers as a Mod that means no more "I thought it was a joke!" excuses.

"Can you re-word that last sentence?"
By giving rules change PM alerts a certain look that adds to the viability of the message.

So when the sender is a mod and the message has that look then the reciever can't claim to have thought it was a joke.

Also make the use of the template outside of rules changes and the like a bannable offense.

Or maybe have specific avatar to use as something of a seal.
