The plan to end all plans
Dec 18 2009, 8:46 AM EST
Well, maybe not ALL plans, lol. I've been outlining this plan with my party for over a year now, and I took a couple hours to write it out based on the checklists we have made. Its pretty long but not lacking in detail. I think i'm starting to get the reputation of being long winded and I havent been here long, lol. Anyways, I would seriously appreciate any SERIOUS comments, questions, and criticism. Once again, its kinda long, so grab a drink or something.http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/AlexHigginbotham+Havelock%2C+NC PS My RVE isnt up yet, i went to post it and it didnt save right, I'll get it back up before the weekend is over. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

You usually "attach" threads to the page you are talking about. If you look at the bottom of your survival plan you can see the option of starting a thread. That way there will be a automatic link to the page and the page will link to the thread. It makes navigation on the site easier.

Don't worry about the damn navigation. AlexHigginbotham, you rock dude. Excellent plan man. You've put a lot of time and thought into your plan and it shows. The realism of your plan cannot be denied. You've got members in your group who have real world skills and you came up with excellent ways to use them. When you first mentioned apartment buildings for a BOL I was rolling my eyes, then when you described how they were set up I understood why you decided on your location. I'm speechless bud. Thanks for sharing your plan and keeping it realistic and practical. I learned a thing or two which is what this site is about. You get two very enthusiastic thumbs up from the ol' timberrattler. Big thanks man. Problems with detailed plans is if step 4 fails, step 5 through 29 are screwed.Still stumped on a solid bail out plan, and a second BOL. I would hate having to do wing it after all that planning went down the drain. Do you find this valuable? |

Oh I agree with you there, what impressed me about your plan was how honest you were about everything. Even now you are admiting that your plan can derail at step 4. Let's face it if you forgot to tie your shoes and tripped over your shoelaces and broke your neck it could end at step 1.Being honest with yourself and admitting your weaknesses tells me your not over-confident or a total egomaniac. It also means that you are open to improvisation when all else fails. We have a test every year where I work called the "A.O.C." test. A.O.C. stands for Abnormal Operating Conditions. The questions change every year and at the end they ask for suggestions on what we believe they failed to add. Its not uncommon for something me or my fellow employees wrote to be on next years test. When it comes to A.O.Cs things are always changing. The next time you and your group gets together discuss the A.O.Cs that you could be faced with and trouble-shoot how you would deal with said condition. You'd be amazed at all the things that could possibly go wrong. Do you find this valuable? |

I moved this thread under your survival page for ya. Secondly, great plan. The honesty really impressed me, not too many of our members can do that; it makes their e-peens seem small. As far as a secondary BOL, maybe my theories can help. 2 of my secondaries are municipal communication facilities and another is a water tank. These places are usually remote (on top of mountains as far as mine are concerned) and surrounded by a beefy fence. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm delighted with this plan. Why? It is so very similar to my own, though it diverges in the long term. That said, I have never put my plans up (though I did throw up an entertaining one for the Halloween competition last year for the laugh)... Do you find this valuable? |

Sorry again about attaching the thread incorrectly, this forum is set up really weird to me... Anyways thanks for the feedback, and ill check out some high ground next time im out roaming. This is kind of a flat part of NC with all the airfields around. The only pre fortified areas i can think of in the area are on base, and thats gonna be a real hot zone for me to start out. Its still kind of stumping me. I can think of 100 temp places that could last me a week or two, but beyond that... Do you find this valuable? |

Though you could just use the control towers if you wanted highground.. Do you find this valuable? |

I work 2 buildings away from the ATC tower, its extremely small. Might be a good hermit spot for 1, but i couldnt hold more than a couple with supplies. Plus its occupied 24 hours a day. With the outbreak we will have jets taking off left and right, emergency landings, etc. Someone is gonna be there. Not to mention, most all military bases, especially air bases without infantry units present, will be over run with infection. Everyone is gated in, so it will be a varietable zed maze. Speaking of which, i had to go to the base theater today for a retirement ceremony, and guess whats on top of the theater? 54 7x3 solar panels. I also remember a prowler having a radar malfunction in 2006 over the base and it zapped all power on the base for 2 days, but the chow hall always had power. Im assuming they have some pretty heavy duty generators in there. Wrote that down in my little green ZDay notebook, just in case i get interested later on :) Do you find this valuable? |

"Wrote that down in my little green ZDay notebook, just in case i get interested later on :)"That gave me a little chuckle when i got a mental image of a wheel book with lots of z-day prep ideas in it. lol. "this isn't my log book?" haha! funny if your gunny saw that. that aside... DUDE! what base you at? i'm a navy corpsman and i'm getting sent there for FMTB so that tells you where i'll be. if you dont know just ask ur doc where the NC FMTB is at. Great plan as well, very well thought out. I need a map or locations or landmark for your RVE so i can find it with the SHTF. I'll PM you my email. Do you find this valuable? |

Impressive plan! I'm particularly impressed by your group, great amount of luck on your part to get such skilled members interested enough to take Z Day seriously. One point I will make (correct me if I'm wrong); you appear to be relying on vehicle transportation to your safe zone. When the crisis happens none of us know how suddenly it might creep up or whether even zombie buffs like us will spot the signs. As such; it might be worth considering an alternative mode of transport, check whether it would be possible on foot and how safe that would be. If the roads are crammed with ghouls and fleeing citizens, your car may well become a death trap. Do you find this valuable? |
