"What's the above ground pool for?"
Why, relaxing after a long day of killin' zeds!

There's also a basketball court!

Due to the remote location, we probably could go weeks before seeing zombies trickle in from populated areas on foot.

The only downside is that the two lane road that runs by the compound does have traffic on it and might end up blocked. There are dirt trails, but the lower clearance vehicles couldn't make it.

I'm going to suggest Hesco Barriers. I wouldn't normally bring something like this up but the fact that you have a backhoe would make something like this possible.

Good plan man. You have a good group of people and it sounds like you are organised which is key to a plan like this. Very much impressed.

OK, what about numbers? Say, triple normal traffic and nearest civilization = 5K? Do you find this valuable?

I have seen Hesco barriers before. I was thinking of making my own with livestock fencing formed into a cylinder and lined with tarp.

The thing is, I don't own the property. One of my close friends is a long time family friend of the people that own the compound and surrounding 80 acres, and he leases one of the small houses there with his wife.

The owners of the property enjoy it looking like a rural, natural compound. They don't want any fences or anything put up to ruin the "natural" look.

So that means that we cannot begin work on any defenses until SHTF. The owners have agreed that once SHTF, we can build walls.

The population of Orange County is about 3 million.

YIKES!

In a panic situation, there could be upwards of 10,000 cars per day on the road.

Really, I'm counting on being able to use some explosives to bring down the canyon walls and seal off our compound from OC.

the key to that aspect of the plan would be being #1- 5 and not #10001-10005 on that road on Z-day, eh?

still think 10K rds ammo will cover the bases?

consider 1-2 members learning/investing in reloading ammo?

Your format is awesome!

I actually would like to propose that it becomes the standard format for the survival plan template if you and the other mods are good with the idea.

We are working on this. Already have a few guys interested, and one who "tried it once" but we need to get all the supplies necessary.

I have no problem if u guys wanna adopt that format as the standard, as long as the front page of the site has a picture of me putting a zombie in a sleeper hold while I'm karate kicking an orphan in half.

Nah, u can take it uncredited ;)
