you can easily construct a spear pit by digging out a whole in the ground with a minimum of 5 ft. wide 5 ft. long and 15 ft. deep althoughvyou can expand the dimensions to your liking next sharpen around two dozen poles into punji sticks such as used in vietnam t them to the pit after you get out of the pit hang an animal in a cage over the pit ( never use goats because they are to valuable) and go back to your fort. the zombies will smell the animal and immediatly begin to swarm towards it fall into the pit and either be stuck to the spears ir impaled through the head and die
P.S. this isnt for those who are against cruelty to animals

not that this is a bad idea, but it IS covered elsewhere, so we don't want to hear about it.
also, there ARE other materials you could use besides bamboo.
And as far as the animals go, we are not sure whetheer zombies would be attracted to them or not, so i would rather disguise the opening with leaves, or snow, on some easily broken pieces of wood or sticks

"Where exactly can I find bamboo in Kentucky."
Use regular old wood Aspin would be good ( I think thats a tree that grows there in Kentucky but it doesn't matter any wood would do as long as its large enough no twigs lol) sharpen it to a point and then fire harden the tip.
