Good explosive?
Jan 15 2010, 2:20 AM EST | Post edited: Jan 15 2010, 2:20 AM EST
After watching a few WW2 movies such as "Saving private ryan" they dipped there socks into tar, i think they puted gun powder in them, and attached a fuse.
I remember they dipped them into tar to stick them onto the wheels or "tracks" onto tanks to blow off the wheels.

Instead of using them to blow up tanks could'nt we through or "attach" a tar sock (thats what im calling them) to a zombie to blow itself up?

Ahhh the sticky bomb. Effective, simple - and insanely dangerous. We volunteer you to do the sticking.

Seriously though, maybe the same idea but with the bomb strapped to a 'spear-like' pole, light it up and jam that into the zombies chest. You don't need to be in immediate vicinity, and you don't have the possibility of it sticking to you.

Nice obscure musical reference.

For the moment, I would suggest that you can only explain why the tar sock AS DESCRIBED above would not be a good idea.

We (mods and admins) are currently talking about just how much information we can put on the site.

Actually, they used demolition blocks, of C2 or TNT stuck inside socks and dipped in motor oil.

Great idea though, a bit wasteful.

Was Composition B in the movie, was the most common form of explosives used in ww2 it's a form of TNT and other materials.
I wouldnt put them in socks. did you happen to notice how close they had to be to something to stick it on. You dont wanna be that close to a ZED unless its absolutely necessary.

You would beputting that demo to better use if you used it to lets say demo bridges to separate an island from the mainland for a defensive area.

As I'm new to this site I do not know where your limits go but I would suggest a gunpowder pipebomb with shrapnel. Easy to make and can cause a lot of damage!
Besides from gunpowder I would suggest Ammonium Nitrate -based explosives.
If you're really good with chemicals a Fuel Air Explosive would be the best!

Don't use fireworks, they're so overrated. Unless you put a big one in like a box of nails or something.

Even that is a waste of resources. Most of the nails will miss. They are better used for construction. And the explosives would be better used demolishing a bridge, cliff-side etc. to block routes.

Well it doesn't have to be nails, I only used that for an example but you're totally right on that one. However, if you use something else such as marbles, broken glass or metall bearings and got it in a crowd it is inevitable for it to miss, even if it's only in the foot it WILL cause some sort of damage.

And taking down structures such as bridges is not a bad idea but some booby-traps is never a shame to have around for emergences and you might have t get a large number of Zeds out of the way which then explosives would be the best.

alright, this is something that i thought up a little while ago.

here is what you do. you take your average cast iron crock pot, one of the dang near bullet proof ones. you put a layer of explosive in the bottom of the pot and attach a fuse leading from that up the side of the pot and out the top. you then fill it with screws, nails, anything that will work as shrapnel.

here is the important part. you will then use duct tape to tape the top shut. make sure that nothing will fall out if you turned it over, and that the fuse is still sticking out.

the makeshift lid is to keep everything in when you turn it over and attach it to a ceiling or door frame. this is so when it goes off the shrapnel will go straight to their head and get the most kills. the crock pot will also allow for the shrapnel to be generally directed downward and not everywhere.

you also need to have enough fuse for this so you aren't standing underneath it when it goes off.

simple, easy to make, supplies not hard to come by, and very effective. hooray for classic IED's.

What're you going to cook out of now Sega? You blew up your dutch oven!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tannerite

All that aside, the best explosives are the legal ones. Tannerite, when shot by high caliber rifles, explodes much like a pipe bomb does. It can be purchased legally online, and is creates a VERY impressive report when shot.

In theory, you could build a pipe bomb using a rifle cartridge, tannerite in a sealed container, and a timed discharge mechanism to fire the rifle cartridge - but creating explosives is a felony. You do so at your own risk.
