"I agree with everything except for some of the weaponry. For my assault rifle I would have an AK-47 because of greater durability, lighter weight, easier to clean, fewer parts to replace and the AK doesn't have the 'corrosion from firing' problem that the M4 does."For shotgun, Remington Model 1100 TAC4, specifically for the built in scope mounts and the 2 shot magazine extension, 4>2 after all" I dont want to sound rude and Im not a gun person but would you really need a scope for a shotgun, I know shotguns have pretty good range nowadays but I dont think your gonna need asistence aiming a shotgun unless your inferring to adding something else than a sight to the mount. Just my opinion anyways. Do you find this valuable? |

OK THEN!The first part of this post seems like a lot of fighting. Where are the guys that post the links to other parts of the site for newcomers that make common mistakes? He keeps saying he wanted feed back on his list and survival plan. There is a section of this website called Survival Plans where you can post your plan and others can comment on it and help out. Plus other informational sections on the great panic, why walmart will kill you (i like that one with the police looting), and so much more. To just look at a few of the discussions we have on here and think the site isn't worth it then your lose, thanks and good bye. A few things about your lists, Do you have a Bug Out Location? Is it close to where you live? If you have to move to your location is this stuff there waiting for you or do you have to carry it? Do you have a smaller Bug Out Bag with a different list of things just encase? A few simple questions and most of the people on this site can answer them really fast for themselves. It is hard to keep up with all the things said in this one form but the last comment goes to the WWZ book by Brook's. I liked the book because of how it showed the world governments way of dealing. I know its been a while. I've been busy. Got a new gig as a Sales Manager at a Cemetery. I figure that I'll be one of the first to know when ZDay is upon us.Here is the next portion of my list....CREW. As stated before, this section helps to expose a little of why i suggest so much stuff. Each person in this list will "pull his/her own weight"...literally. The Leader The Crazy Guy The Tough Guy The Father Figure The Nerd The Medic The Driver The Sexy Chic The Distraction for full details on each of these, please reference http://ryanrydell.blogspot.com/2010/04/thankfully-dead-have-not-risen-to.html Next is transportation. to answer Hitmanci86: I do not have any of the things you ask about. working on it though. Ok, the crew post is a little off. You can't plan for the type of people you are going have. Everyone acts differently in a high stressed, high risk scenario and you can't plan for it. Instead of planning a crew list think about a list of skills you are going to need. Like SGTGerman said.1. Someone who knows weapons and can fix them 2. Someone who knows electronics and computer systems 3. Someone who knows medicine 4. Someone who knows engineering and sooooo on..... Someone you think will be a good leader could have a mental break down and be unless. Also any person can go through depression or other mental issue and that's bad. Read up on some natural disaster survivor stories it will give you a good look into how the human mind reacts. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

May I be totally honest? I found your blog on crew entertaining but possessing little informative value. It didn't teach me anything new, it didn't make me reconsider my team options, nor does it even really address disaster preparations. I don't see how its related to survival in any way, short of casting parts for a survival movie. It was fun to read but of no value to someone interested in learning about survival. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. I wasn't sure who to actually quote and I realise this is going back a little but I do think there is logic in avoiding the "Walmart" as you Americans say. After my weapon etc, my feet are my most important asset. Without them I cannot fight effectively and pull guys out of the fight to carry me around. Therefore you need to protect your feet with the best equipment you can. I thought the idea of spending £15 on a pair of socks was insane until I realised that the "1000 mile sock" is specifically designed for better wearing. Extra comfort - less blisters - more miles we can go. Therefore proper socks for instance are far better for you than cheap ones from the "walmart". Do you find this valuable? |
