You're shopping when the outbreak hits your store.

Unless you're packing, what do you do? And if you're packing, I am sure you don't have you're Operator grade Eotach gear on teaming with magazines, maybe you have 10-13 rounds, Should be enough to clear a few isles, then what?

Most stores there are enough armed people to take out the initial rush, without reloading. At least around here. Even grocery stores and drug stores sell guns and ammo.

In NJ you will not find guns nor ammo in 99% of the stores you might find yourself in. I would grab whomever I was with at the time, locate the nearest fire exit, Bug Out, and head to my car. If the car was not an option, we begin hoofing it. I would NOT run unless I were being chased - At this point it may be time to conserve energy, plus I don't want to be hit with a backlash from my Parasympathetic Nervous System as a response to burning up all of that adrenaline. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Well it depends. Since I live in Canada no body is going to armed unless they are a cop so I'm going to get out of that store as fast as I can. If the outbreak is massive as in the the zombies number the thousand's then I might try to grab something I can use as a weapon on the way out be it a bat or pole, etc. And yeah seriously byates where do you live cause it must be one hell of a place.

Ahh, Grocery Shopping....My one true foe.Funny thing is, I'm literally in/out with shopping as B-list, low-energy '80's-90's music fries my brain after a track or three....so for me to get in this predicament would be slim, but a possibility nonetheless. The plan: [largely the same as DN's as it's the most logical to me] *Locate friends/family/SO I was with at the time *Efficiently leave the store as the situation requires *Get in the ride and GTFO Or if auto-based escape can't be accomplished, *Leave the area inconspicuously [casual walking] as everyone else flips the f*ck out and devise a plan as I go based on what I know. Assuming we're dealing with shamblers, you could probably run out before things get too bad. Also, most of the places I shop have at least one gun-owner at any given time. Do you find this valuable? |

Run out the back, less people to trample you to death. Not to mention there's usually more pipes and the like to climb up on the roof.

"Most stores there are enough armed people to take out the initial rush, without reloading. At least around here. Even grocery stores and drug stores sell guns and ammo. "I like this area you speak of. At one time here in Toronto, they had atleast hunting rifles at our walmarts and Canadian tires, now there's only one rifle store that I actually know. To be able to walk into a drugstore and buy 12 guage shells, that's sick! I take my knife with, atleast I'd have that. Depending how close I am to home, I would probably haul 4S$ back home. I live across the street from a grocery/drugstore, so for grocery shopping Im never too far from home. I would head there, then get to my BOL. If I'm elsewhere, i'd have to evaluate and make it up as I go. Like today, I was just chillin with a bunch of friends. More hands would be helpful and we would arm ourselves and try to barricade. There is an outdoors/ gun store right down the street from there. If it wasn't bad out, we'd see what the store was like. For the most part, we'd bunker in, wait out the first stages and head west to my BOL once things die down. No matter where I am in Toronto, my mission is to get to my BOL - or as close as I can. The bol should be safe, cause it's a park (a big park) but I was thinking of making a fallback... Eventhough I'd have to travel through city either way. There's really no way around it. Well I normally have my .45 under the counter when I'm working, but if not I work in a paint store so I would smash them over the head with some gallon paint cans. Then run over to the spray paint rack and grab a lighter and have myself a Zed roast.

I would either have a pistol on my person or out in the vehicle, so either way the first objective is to get out of the store and make it to the Ford. Then we start the cell phone calls to rally the family. Odds are I will be grocery shopping which is close to home, so I will be breaking a few laws as I talk on my phone doing about 75.

"In the movies, yes, but in real life danger can be anywhere."And in most cases it's the panicked living I worry about. If Assassin's Creed has taught me anything, hiding is better than running, running is better than fighting, and fighting is better than dying. I've also started to consider my environment in a 3D way. Do you find this valuable? |

Under an ideal situation, I would gather any friends or family I was with, arm myself and whoever I was with with some kind of object to push the zombies away, and grab a cart for myself and whoever I was with. I would then systematically gather supplies off the shelves (canned food, water, medicine, etc.).If there were 3 more people (nobody goes alone), I would assign them to gather more supplies. We would rendezvous at the back of the store, go out the emergency exit, walk to the front of the store, and dump all the goodies in the back of the vehicle. Assuming there were 3 people, I would have 2 stand guard and 1 come with me back in, if it looked like there were still supplies in and no rioting going on.Under a bad situation, I would simply dump all of the cans closest to me in my basket and make a great escape out the back. No matter what store you're in there's always something you can use to fight off a zed that gets too close, use your imagination. Only those of us willing to think outside the box and keep calm will survive. Do you find this valuable? |
