Large Scavenging Scenario

This is it. The big one. It might even be the largest scavenger's challenge on the fourms.I made this scenario over the span of a couple days on my laptop. It has over 70 different options; it was so big I couldn't paste it onto a thread (I have a link to a page) on the ZSDW. You'll find a little explanation on the top of the page. Please select 6 items and 2 small items, reply with what you got, and say why. Mr. Linky is http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Crazyking%27s+Scavenging+Scenario Check back regularly; I'm adding more stuff! Do you find this valuable?

Bah! The link might be to an incomplete version of the scenario. I'll check it later... but if anyone tries do download it and the last item on the list is NOT "5 carabiners" then tell me. I'd be a total idiot if it IS incomplete...

"why don't you try posting it to a page here, then posting the link to the page.Nah, the MS Word doc has (all-knowing) links to Wikipedia built in. I know that you can create links on the ZSDW fourms, but it is VERY hard to find 70+ hyperlinks in Wikipedia. I'll try it as a last resort, but I REALLY do not want to find those links again! Type 100 SMG - Taking it much more because it's a piece of history than "Full auto is cool."8x22 Nambu rounds (60) 3 extra *mags* for Type 100 Glock 20 Sound suppressor (Glock 20) Dragon Skin body armor vest PSP and CB for pocket items. You see, when you prepare properly, you have all of the basics, and can focus on other things. And CAN'T I just take the dog? I mean, I'm not carrying him, right? Do you find this valuable? |

Hooray! This is getting some vaired responses; that's good. I don't want to be biased, but here's what I'd get. Please take note that I'm a horrible novice at survival, and you shouldn't base your choices off mine ^_^.Considering I'd have my BOB with meals, .22 semiauto, .38 revolver, Main: 1. Baby Eagle - It uses S&W .40 and those rounds are great. Plus, it's semi. Way better than my current revolver in my BOB. 2. .40 S&W rounds - Duh. 3. Bagn Nakh - I could punch through a zed skull with the knife or 'claws' or at least knock it over with a brass-knuckle punch to the face. Kind of like a trench spike. 4. Flint & Magnesium Fire Kit - I have ZERO experience starting a fire without one of these beauties. 5. Snare kit - Catch animals & cook 'em with the above. Food = no longer a problem. 6. Suppressor - I don't have one of these in my BOB, and they're illeagal in California (I don't have a permit). This would be valuable for my .22. EDIT: And because I'm in US, they would be of a higher quality technology. More sound reduction = more valuable. Small: Sony PSP - Gotta be entertained on the road at camp! 12 double-A - I need a way to recharge the CB in my BOB and my newly gained PSP ^_^ Do you find this valuable? |

Here's what I'd take:Since I have my normal gear, I wouldn't take any weapons. But... 12 ga. 000 buckshot. My primary weap is a Mossy Chlrine Tablets. Fire Starting kit. I can always use another. Water. Again, I can always use more. MRES. I like 'em. Snare kit. Very useful in catching small animals. Pocket: The triple-A batteries and the CB. I like to talk, and some of the contents of my BOB runs on AAAs. Good scrounging scenario. I like it. Do you find this valuable? |

Hmm, looks like the shotguns are popular. I might just add a Mossberg. And panzie, you have everything you need to know on the Wikipedia link ;) I'm going to see if the updates to my document are saved to the online version as well... but later. Edit: And thanks Jim ^_^ Do you find this valuable? |

Of course, this is only if I already have my standard BOB.Large Items: 1) Ibuprofen pills I only have 1 acetaminophen bottle, and I might develop a tolerance to that, should I use them too much. 2) 2 Gallons of water; drink one there You can always use more water. 3) 10 Freeze-dried meals They taste better than MRE's + food is always a positive. 4) Flint and Magnesium fire starter kit This is a "just in case" for if my lighters and striker/flint don't work. 5) Snare kit By taking this, I will have an extra way to obtain food from nature. 6) Sound Supressor This way, when I hunt for white tails, there won't be a *resounding* crack of gunfire. Small Items: 1) CB Radio This will be a spare for if my current CB stops working. 2) 12 AA Batteries All of my flashlights run on AA. Without batteries, I'm /skewed/. Do you find this valuable? |

First I would like to say good work. You included a bunch of stuff, that it would be possible to find and some stuff you would be very lucky to find. All of which are useful. Now to my list:Large Items 1) Mauser K98---These rifles are ACCURATE and military grade of the good ole days meaning metal and WOOD. Good club when out of ammo. 2) 7.92x57mm Mauser rounds [35] 3) 4 gallons of distilled water (in jugs) 4) 10 MRE meals 5) Portable stove w/ ½ gal. fuel 6) 2 Zippo lighters (biohazard design)---considering they are fully loaded Small Items---Sony PlayStation Portable (w/ two game cartridges)-- Entertainment and the other items is the batteries it takes. I'm assuming the AA's I can filter water and boil it with the portable stove + fuel and cook food if need be. The zippos are windproof and will be very handy, especially if I can get lucky and find some cigars. Do you find this valuable? |

i have 1 little nit-pick about the scenario. in all that scrounging around you couldn't find another thing to carry stuff in? not a backpack or shoulder bag? not even a purse? a canvas bag? you couldn't even find a bed sheet to use as a makeshift bag? or a plastic milk crate? hell even a cardboard box or a plastic bag tossed on the ground? no offense but it seems very unlikely that a city would be that devoid of carrying equipment.since i already have all my bob stuff which includes weapons, here's my list: 1.4 gallons of distilled water (in jugs) 2.10 MRE meals 3.5 packs of Beef Jerky 4.1 package (12 bars) of energy bars 5.steel crowbar so i can pry at stuff 6. Anatolian Shepherd dog. stevie will make a good guard dog and for the small stuff: 1. Portable CB radio (49 MHz) 2.24 triple-A batteries in reality though there's no finite number of items you can carry at any one time. its not like a game where each piece of equipment in your inventory takes up 1 box and you have 20 boxes, its making everything fit in the space you have. these scenarios should be about what you can realistically carry with you not the number of items. far and away, reality almost always beats the numbers. I'd have to make a chart of weights and sizes and strength, and people falsely guessing their own strength (I saw someone once who thought a full set of 60 lb armor would be a viable option)... it's just too many variables. The reason I didn't bring the four gallons of water is that carrying that much on your back is just unreasonable.1 Gallon = 8.35 pounds 4 Gallons = 33.4 pounds. I checked the weight on some guns, and it turns out that's like carrying a Barrett M95 AND an M1 Garand, not including the rest of your stuff. Though I would certianly take a drink of it and fill up my water bottle before I left. Do you find this valuable? |

"The reason I didn't bring the four gallons of water is that carrying that much on your back is just unreasonable.Yeah, a bit unlikely, lol. Maybe we could have a scenario where you can fill up your pack with things, and you can have as many items as you want, as long as it doesn't go over a certian limit. That'd be great, huh? ... Now, I tell you this, if I see all of this, I'm sitting down, eating one of those Water-Ready meals, and drinking that can of coke while I'm still there.
