A Place to Hold Up

My biggest key, would to be constantly on the move. Every bit of zombie footage and information has shown that they flock by the thousands to wherever the living are. However, if I did need to barricade myself into a holdout to wait for the rest of my associates or for evac, I would choose a location with solid concrete walls, minimal amounts of windows, and the least amount of doors, but still having easy access to a roof. After Ive loaded my truck with a substantial amount of supplies, I would move it and myself to the nearest small time body shop/ mechanics garage I could find. Most small time mechanics garages only have one bay door. Simply pull in my vehicle, close the over head door and secure it. To prevent thefts these locations have little if no windows at all, so board up whatever windows and doors there are. All of these locations have vents in the roof to vent out fumes so simply just climb out for easy access to the roof and just hold out for a pending helicopter extraction. If no extraction is possible jump back in the truck, open the bay door and run the bastards over and take off to the next suitable location. Do you find this valuable?

Welcome to the site.

Of course, there is no "zombie footage." Those are movies. Nobody really knows what zombie will be like.

Note: avoid wall o' text. Your other thread suffers from the same problem.

Also, two questions:
1. Where are you going to find the building?
2. Where will you find the "substantial amount of supplies"?

Finally, running over something isn't really that easy. If you car gets hit with a 150lb. object, there will be damage to it. Have you ever seen someone hit a deer, and the damage that can cause?

Well 1 hitting a dear as opposed to hitting a human is 2 different things especially in the case of a Ram truck. Also while moving around as I said finding any building with the proper elements for a tactical advantage, i.e. limited entrances and windows for zeds to just march through. Substantial amounts of supplies would be based on dietary discipline, & enough to tie me over for a few days. A few days just to get my barrings and break down my situation as is. Sorry about writing a lot, it was my first few posts, abd I just like to show detail. Do you find this valuable?

You should read that thread and that page for arguments as to why moving around is a bad idea.

Well none of us can say what the situation will be based on where we are. We could be in the middle of no where or in the middle of downtown Chicago. The trick is getting a basic idea of what you'd imagine yourself doing, and hopefully at that time and place its works. Nothing says your going to be @ your safe site or even have your bug out gear when the Sh*t hits the fan. Do you find this valuable?

I worked at a prison as a guard. I can find no where more secure than a prison. They have large generators a double fence with razor wire. Also guard towers. A prison has all the things needed for a population to survive including kitchen, laundry, radio coms, and guns. And the best part no labor is exausted in building a shelter. Plus alot of prisons are not close to populated areas. Do you find this valuable?

If you make a BOB and then don't keep it near you, you get exactly what you deserve, good and hard.
