I was shopping at a megachain bookstore this weekend and I came across a book titled Encyclpedia of Country Living it lists everything you would need to learn in a SHTF situation. I read it a little bit and it had a lot of information I had to learn the hard way. If you are serious about having the ability to rebuild this is a book you will need. I picked up that and a Home Depot book of home repair between the two of these books you will have the abilities to do most anything you need post apoc. Unfortunatly I do not have the firsthand knowedge that Timberrattler does as I have never been on a farm the information contained here would be an imense help to those of us lacking his skills.

there are actually a number of books like that out there. not to mention magazines like Mother Earth News... there are also a number of companies out there specializing in low tech solutions for every day life. just be careful of publishing companies who mostly use pseudonyms for their authors...

what you really need is the complete Ragnar Benson collection, fromBreath Of The Dragon: Homebuilt Flamethrowers to Ragnar's Guide To Home And Recreational Use Of High Explosives and the list goes on and on, i think the collection is 36 books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnar_Benson Do you find this valuable? |

I guess you could use basically use any kind of book meant for any situation, Just take a red marking pen and make some major edits to make the book more adjusted to a Zombie Apocalypse.Modified one of my older Atlases with this technique. Mostly markings on my hometown but also significant escape points such as ports and airports. Also places to avoid such as hospitals and major cities. Do you find this valuable? |

er...if you want a book designed for people like us, and written by people like us then I can only suggest:'How to Survive the End of the World as We Know it: Tactics, Techniques and Technologies for Uncertain Times' written by 'James Wesley Rawles' I have 2 copies...one I have read three times and is dog-eared and damaged, and one is in a sealed watertight bag in my BOB along with; my 'SAS Survival Guide', my 'Disaster Survival' manual' and my 'First Aid' manual which are all pocket-sized books and fit in a single watertight sealed bag.
