Trapped in the UK - What do You Take?

HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIO:For some reason you are in the UK when the Zombie Apocalypse begins. Because of the threat of the spread of infection all flights off this tiny island in Western Europe are grounded and you are trapped in a country you don't know very well with the threat of the Undead getting closer each day as the infection springs up more and more in towns and cities across the country...but there is hope! You manage to log onto the ZSDW and manage to get in touch with some of us here...we tell you to meet up with us, and so you jump in your rental car and drive a couple hundred miles using SatNav until you reach our destination where you find a dozen people armed only with shotguns and bolt-action rifles because of those "F*cking Stupid Limey Gun Laws". We tell you though that there is a police headquarters nearby and that the armed response units for the County operates out of there, and with all the police officers out-in-the-field the place is virtually deserted and we're planning to Raid it for weapons and supplies...so we go...(Suspend Belief for this next bit please) When we get there the place is fully deserted and after a few hours of searching, and a few hours with an Oxycetalene torch we manage to break into the firearms room which while depleted, still holds a number of firearms, a small amount of ammunition and accesories. These firearms are all 'semi-automatic', there are only a few of each, and while we will be taking them ALL...what would take for your own personal use? [CONTINUED] Do you find this valuable? |

RULES = Be Realistic1.) While you can carry a dozen pistols...2 is the limit. 2.) You cannot carry 10'000 rounds of ammo...be realistic 3.) You might want to carry two SMG's (One for back-up)... giving it to someone else means you have an extra set of eyes and an extra weapon watching your back...Share! 4.) ASSUME there are as many magazines, bullets, holsters and slings as you could possibly need. 5.) Suspend Belief - yes it's unlikely it'll ever happen, or that we'll ever find this magical cache of guns and ammo in a police locker post-Z-day...but it's for fun so just answer please and save the critique. Standard Issue Telescopic Baton CS/PAVA incapacitant spray Hiatts Speedcuff Stab-Resistant Vest (These are all weapons issued to and used by the British Police Force's Armed Response Units.) Heckler & Koch MP5 (Submachine gun, fitted with Red dot sight) Steyr AUG (Semi-automatic carbine, used by some forces instead of the MP5) Heckler & Koch G36C (semi-automatic carbine) Glock 17 Sig Sauer P226 Walther P99 (in use with Nottinghamshire Constabulary) Heckler & Koch USP Heckler & Koch L104A1 "baton gun" (less lethal option, fires rubber bullets) American X26 Taser (These are 'Specialist Weapons' which have been issued to 'Authorised Firearms Officers' in the past and so could be found in any British Police Armoury) Remington 870 (Pump-action shotgun, used for door breaching) Heckler & Koch PSG1 (sniper rifle) Heckler & Koch G3KA4 (battle rifle, used in sniping roles) Heckler & Koch MSG-90 (sniper rifle) Riflecraft TMR1 (sniper rifle) Heckler & Koch MP5K (semi-automatic PDW) Heckler & Koch 93 (sniper rifle) Heckler & Koch MP5SD2 (Submachine gun, fitted with an integral suppressor) British L1A1 Irritant Chemical Launcher (launches projectiles of irritant such as CS gas or PAVA) Heckler and Koch 417 rifle So...being realistic: 1.) What do you arm yourself with, and why? 2.) What loadout do you reccomend for other people who have little or no experience with complex firearms, and why? 3.) What do you not reccomend taking, and why? Do you find this valuable? |

Right, before anyone else says it:When the Zombie Apocalypse begins the likelihood is that the Police Officers would clean out the armoury and issue the wepons amongst themselves in order to control the situation. I know there won't be any guns and ammo in a police station post-Z-day and even the evidence lockers will be emptied of anything dangerous or lethal...so think of this as just a 'Fun Exercise' please. Nice scenario. Very extensive. And let me say this: THANK YOU LIMEYS! I could never find this **** in California! If your rules state that it's two guns, then 1) H&K MP5SD2 - silencers are golden H&K USP - A pistol is a versitile choice Stab vest - breathable, light, and durable. 2) H&K MP5SD2 - Pepole don't flinch at suppressed gunshots much. Any sniper rifle - Cause it takes three muscles for a proper trigger squeeze and zero to sit in a crow's nest. H&K 417 - Cause ya can't screw up a rifle. 3) Irritant Chemical Launcher - Raiders would only be incapped for a few seconds, and it would have no effect on zeds. Baton Gun - Rubber bullets are annoying and painful, but they are peashooters when your target can just hit you in the face with some buckshot. Incap spray - See the Chemical Launcher. I'd take all the extra gear, no reason not to. I have plenty of belt space.-Sig P226 One of the finest pistols ever made. Comfortable, accurate and reliable. Why the hell not? -Glock 17 A good gun to hand a fellow survivor. Common in the UK, very reliable and simple to use. -X26 Taser My only real non lethal that I'd easily carry, as most of those options use some pretty uncommon ammunition. -PSG1 As overpriced it is, the H&K PSG1 is one of the most accurate autoloading rifles on the face of the Earth. I'd take it, and strip all the twenty-round magazines I could from the G3 and MSG90. (FYI, the MSG90 is just a cheaper PSG1, and both are G3 derivatives) That rifle is very heavy, so it'd pretty much be my only long arm. That aside, I'd probably take the G36C or the SD, perhaps the Remington. For a new shooter, I'd recommend: -Glock 17 Again, common, reliable and simple to use. Also has a light rail, at least the newer versions. Be aware that there are many versions that function somewhat differently, however. -Remington 870 A shotgun, so very flexible in use and easy to learn. -MP5SD2 The suppressor is a huge benefit, and one that can use full power ammo, unlike other designs. However, the weapon itself is not the best for a novice shooter... -Steyr AUG / G36C Sticking to an assault rifle, if one can properly learn it, will keep one prepared for most ranges of firefight. The latter rifle also has several picatinny rails for accessories. Do you find this valuable? |

my loadouttwo glock 17's that way both my pistols share the same magazines and one can be used for parts if needed. 870 remingon not my first choice for a shotgun but it would do just fine strapped across my back. mp5sd2 silence is golden and it shares ammo with my glocks. im not sure if its in the rules but i would also like to carry the AUG. its compact accurate and reliable. it would give me better range then the mp5. 'The Rules' simply state: Be Realistic. If you can carry that extra AUG on your back then you're welcome to it. Remember: The rest of your group are all Limeys who don't have a clue when it comes to automatic weapons...but I know one or two people who given a .22 semi-automatic rifle or a bolt-action can nip off a gnats nuts at some serious range using only iron sights.I personally learned to fire a silenced .22 by sitting on top of a large hill and shooting at the flowers on a bush at the bottom of the hill (125-150m) without a scope. My friend who's rifle it was and who's land it was could call the flower AND which of the 5 petals he was going to hit before the shot and was accurate about 9 out of 10 times. So while we have no experience with larger calibres and semi-autos, we tend to be pretty handy with what we're allowed XD Do you find this valuable? |

1 - Two Sig 226's, awesome pistol. Plus I've used one before.2 - The G36c - High rate of fire, loads of 5.56mm ammo in the UK (granted it wouldn't be easy to get it out of an Army base) and its nice and short/light. 3 - The Remington. Shotguns are always gonna be useful. Kebabyuchenko xxx Do you find this valuable? |

1. 2 Glock 17s, (not for duel wielding, that is stupid, it's if a fellow survivor needs a gun)2. MP5SD2 the supressor would be useful for nightime scav missions, where I don't want to attract attention. 3. G3KA4. I'm a fan of the G3 series, and with the telescoping stock it's a winner. 4. For a less than lethal weapon I would take the tazer. A gun with rubber bullets is nice, but once you hook someone with the tazer you can control them. They try to attack you again, pull the trigger *clickclickclickclickclickclickclick* and they're down again. Do you find this valuable? |
