Reanimation Progress Close to Home
Apr 29 2010, 6:54 PM EDT | Post edited: Apr 29 2010, 6:54 PM EDT
I recently discovered an unsettling piece of news from the University of Pittsburgh. A team of scientists headed by Dr. Patrick Kochanek drained all the blood from a large test group of canines, replacing the blood with an ice-cold saline solution which drops the dogs' core body temperature just above freezing.

The corpses were then brought back to life by returning the blood to their veins, giving them pure oxygen, and a series of electrical shocks to make the heart beat. The dogs were scientifically dead for a little over three hours. Dr. Kochanek stated that, "We've tried to get it for four hours, but we just haven't been able to do it."

A few of the lucky ones were deemed to be completely normal, however many were stricken with severe physical and/or behavioral problems.

I do not live far from Pittsburgh and find it unsettling that this was happening so close to home. As I have previously stated I may become a Marine, but I am also interested in getting a Doctorate in Theoretical Physics. I find it difficult to imagine any scientist that would put any living thing through this (not that I am some sort of PETA monkey.) There is a moral line between academic research, and screwing with God.

This was published in 2005, God only knows what progress they have made in five years.

I know I am new here, and I know you likely don't (and shouldn't for the afformentioned reason) trust me. However I give you my solemn word that I would not lie. I take the Scout Law very seriously, and the first part of it is "A Scout is Trustworthy".

Lol You have no idea how much more trustworthy you are when your as respectful as that. Most people say 'Screw off why would I lie" or "Umm I lost the link but you can trust me I'm in the army (lie which is one of the worst lies i can think of)"

I have a gut feeling the person telling them they're creating zombie dogs knows a thing or two more about a zombie than those brain dead scientists. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree! Some scientists are highly intelligent, but some lack common sense.
